He's 74 and is already rich as frick. Why would money be an allure? What can he not do now that $100 million would change?

The only reason he would is because he's that competitive.

But I just don't see the allure. Enjoy life. Why deal with idiot kids and boosters?

He’s going to 74 this week I think
He got out because he didn’t like the portal and NIL

We all know he’s the GOAT but his time is gone. We need someone young and innovative

I don’t know whether Saban wants to coach again or not, but I guarantee when he saw the news yesterday he at least thought about it

Now we need a long term coach

Im afraid that doesnt exist anymore. Not in this environment where kids get paid and leave on a whim.
3 years would be program stabilizer and could have a coach in waiting type assistant...maybe

Saban has enough money. He’s getting paid plenty to not coach and do other stuff. Unless he just still has the desire to coach for the love of it, I doubt he comes back. He’s also pretty old now and it’s not great for health. Dude should enjoy retirement

He should be the first call - to ask his opinion on a shortlist of candidates.

Its so hard to get a younger coach who wont aspire to trade his success for the NFL.

I wish BK would have succeeded here. Guys like him aren't candidates for the NFL...age matters there

Saban would coach here for what, 2-3 years and then we’d be starting this all over again. No thanks.

He is having too much fun. After 50 years of a football grind, he gets to enjoy life.

Give it up. Saban quit because NIL and the transfer portal destroyed his advantages. He's finished.

Didn’t Bama win the SEC in 2023 and he was in the playoffs in his last season? True he doesn’t like NIL and the portal but that doesn’t mean he can’t coach and win titles still. However, I highly doubt that he comes out of retirement.

Although it’s a very slight chance, Saban’s wife left a little crack in the door when she said that he still had one championship left in him if he would coach again when they asked her about Nick ever coaching again.

uh, no he doesn’t. He saw that the college game had changed and wanted no part of it. I don’t blame him.
