But he’s multiple years into his career and it’s a very qb friendly system. “Raw”should still be able to hit wide open short gimme throws.

The rationale of the Blake Baker dumbass fan boys…
1st half: Ole Miss scores 4 possessions in a row.
2nd Half: Ole Miss scores TD late 4th quarter to win.
“See! Baker made adjustments and he isn’t the problem!”
Sam Leavitt
1st Half: 3 straight drives of not scoring and outs. TD toward end of 2nd Qtr
2nd Half: 3 straight drives that end in points and on 4th drive stops inside Ole Miss 10 yard line.
No mention of Leavitt improving, only
“Leavitt sucks!”
The Baker fan boys are the worst. 3 straight years of not being able to stop decent mobile QBs. But after 3 games with a QB who has only practiced with the team since fall practice they are ready to bench him. These Baker fan boys are little cucks that need a safe space.

Leavitts play is indefensible.
To this point, it can be fairly sad that they misevaluated him.
I think Kiffin got caught staring at a shiny object after they felt short on the first guy.
If Leavitt is the best quarterback on the team, then he should play. But, if he is the best quarterback on the team, it will be the quarterback that held us back this year.
He is beyond putrid.

Bro Leavitt was missing open WRs all night

First half defense lost that game. Leavitt did have a few unforgivable misses

It was baker at his finest. He has never been good at stopping a mobile qb. Thats just a fact. The defense was pathetic the first half. That said, Leavitt isn't the answer. You need a qb that can pass to win a championship. Leavitt ain't it.

Baker is not good against mobile qb
Leavitt is not a good passing qb
Leavitt is not a good passing qb

Chambliss had 9 rushes for 2 yards. His arm beat us not his mobility

The loss was a combination of bad quarterback play and a bad defensive scheme. A loss is usually never the result of just “one thing“. It’s usually a combination of factors.

The Ole Miss offense had too much possession because our Offense was stalled except one drive in first half.
Posted on 9/20/26 at 11:17 am to doubleb
The defense gave up 24 points in the 1st half because the offense couldn't do anything to keep them off the field. And when they were on the field, they were chasing Chambliss and Lacy from sideline to sideline. The first half was a team-effort failure. The second half was a team-effort success. But OM was the better team when it mattered, on D in the redzone, our final drive.
-Chambliss is better than Leavitt
-Lacy is better than Dillin Jones but his injury thwarted their rushing attack.
-Deuce Alexander is a phenominal receiver. But Ray had the better night.
-Both offensive lines are about equal
our defense is better than theirs, but their offense is significantly better than ours right now.
- Our defense is quite a bit better than theirs, but Chambliss is a monster. He made a ton of plays off-script. Once a QB gets out of the pocket and starts scrambling, defense fall apart. We did an nice job on second down, but he seemed to find always put the ball right on target on 3rd down. Its simply hard to cover for that long. And it wasn't for lack of pressure. He was scrambling because there WAS pressure. Our defense did a good job of that. Chambliss is just a very good QB. He has some Pat Mahomes skill in him.
I want to make this clear, we are NOT a bad football team. We are better than we were last year already...probably by a wide margin. But I'm not sure we are a title contender yet. We're not playing as a team on offense just yet. It may take a few more games to gel. Also, our WR's are a bit on the small side. Sam, being a shorter QB is having trouble getting the ball to smaller receivers. We need to create better passing lanes for him. Hopefully that will come as the offense gels together.
I'm not down on this team or coaching staff one bit. Yes, losing is disappointing. But this staff put together a quality team, which is very remarkable being they had to hit the portal so hard. My hope is that they're able to keep this team mostly intact after the season and only have to fill a few holes via the portal...mainly a couple taller WR.

Habitual 3 and outs will do that to a defense...
I fail to see how LSU's offense let OM's offense go 7-9 on 3rd down in the first half.
Drive 1 = 1:14
Drive 2 = 30seconds
Drive 3 = 58 seconds
Drive 4 = 8 minutes
You sustain drives 1, 2, 3 and at least come away with field goals, and Chambliss doesn't have at least one first half drive. And the defense was right back out on the field playing with nearly no breaks.

No way you typed this without laughing. If that is the case we have an all time bad D-Line. All time.

It’s okay to say both the offense and defense were shite in the first half. Part of the defense’s job is to get themselves off the field on 3rd down and it was a total failure in that regard.
I don't understand why when people criticize the defense, people have to come from the woodwork to defend it by saying "well the offense stunk."
Yes, we know. Both sides of the ball were terrible in the first half independently of each other.
Wait a few years when the defense is bad and people will argue "well the offense scores too quick..."

Nobody is ignoring the defense lol. People have been bitching about the defense the past 14 hours. Do you really think this is a new revelation?
At the same time, our QB missed multiple wide open throws and didn’t even see multiple wide open WRs throughout the game. Our passing game struggled bad.

This is true. I hope that Kiffen gave Baker a chance to do his job but now sees that. But I can't fathom how he could know Chambliss so well and agree to soft coverage.

How do you feel about multiple sub 1 minute possessions in a row impacting a defense facing a fast paced offense with Chambliss and
We never had two sub minute possessions and certainly none back to back.
TOP for the game was about even.
LSU stats first-
Number of plays was about even. 70/73
TOP first half 13:47-16:13
TOP second half 16:24/13:36
Yes our D was on the field longer than Ole Miss’, but Ole Miss received the kickoff. Considering that the stats are very close.

7-9? So ole Miss had at least 9 offensive drives in the first half?
you may not be aware of this, but you can have more than one third down per drive in football.

The defense gave up one score in the second half !! We out scored them 17-8 in the second half it was the first half play that got us beat slow start and ole miss had a fast start lsu tied it up had a chance to get the go head td but couldn’t score in the redzone 2 times look Chambliss is just good man and we still had a chance to tie it at the end so sometimes you gotta tip your cap to the guy on the other side move on!
