He probably got cut for the off the field stuff.
Reid was not bad in Carolina. I'm surprised to see so many people think that he was bad because he got cut.

Loved Eric Reid da tigah! HATED eric reid the kneeler! Will be in the hall of “what couldve been!” Had he not gone to san frinsisco and gone nuts with kapernick!

Reid made over $25 million in his NFL career. I think he will be OK.

Chad Jones is one of the baddest dudes we ever had at safety

That was the play of the game in the game of the century.

Laron Landry, Chad Jones, Eric Reid, Jamal Adams are the pinnacle of safety play at LSU for me. I started LSU in '05, so I'm sure there were others that are deserving but those are my best memories
Honorable mention for Craig Steltz!

He was a good player, not great, in the NFL, and teams didn't want to put up with that bullshite. I seem to remember him not playing as well for Carolina either.
Reid never got blackballed by the league over the BLM stuff despite him being in lockstep with Kaepernick during all that. He continued to play until he simply wasn't good enough to keep getting paid. He still had a 7 year career which is longer than most.

No one is saying he got cut in Carolina because he sucked. He got cut because his performance and positional utility did not match the contract he had. Teams offered him PS spots after that but he turned them down.

PP7 - sucked is implied I guess, you're right.
Performance and utility didn't match his contract - ehhhhh, go take a look LOL. If his play before Carolina earned him that contract, the output in Carolina didn't cause him to get cut...because they got what they paid for.

I don't think it gets overturned because the receiver wasn't in the end zone before Reid stole the ball from him. Had the play been just a couple of yards farther, with feet in the end zone, it would have been a touchdown

you can bet they would have overturned that today
Watching it real time again I was surprised they gave him the interception. It was absolutely the right call but I'm still surprised it went our way.
Off topic I legitimately hate bama. They seemed to build their best teams and get the best breaks when OUR team was elite..
I mean our two best teams of all time (probably) played bama 3 times in 2011 & 2019 combined and had a point differential of -13. The frustrations from 2012 and 2 other games in the 2010s where we just blew it at the end compound the hate. bama shut fournette down and henry got a heisman instead. The kids they were stealing from LA. the list goes on and on. I won't be sad at all to see them spiral into mediocrity.

elite, especially when we first saw him as a freshman.

the fact yall really beleive this is amazing to me. he said it the way he did because he called it a bama reception and then said no it wasnt a reception..not no because he was mad. the victim mentality is wild to me.

Verne wasn't saying NO because he was upset Bama didn't get the catch.
It looked like a Bama reception and then no, it wasn't.
