re: Hopefully the NCAA revisits the HBP rule.

That was crazy how they said Dickenson tried to get hit when his elbow lowered because he tucked his hands against his chest. If you're trying to get hit, your hands would move away from you body, not against it. While there player turned and got hit. Looking at the replay, his leg moved closer to the plate and not farther. If he would have been trying to avoid the pitch, he would have kept turning his body, not turn half way, then come to a stop
re: Chase Shores: 2 2/3 IP, 28 pitches
Posted by TigerDM on 6/23/25 at 10:38 am
Shores was pretty amazing down the stretch. It seemed like every outing he was able to pitch to 1 or 2 more hitters without losing his stuff
re: Do Dickinson and Stanfield come back next season?
Posted by TigerDM on 6/23/25 at 8:28 am
I hope Stanfield comes back, but I don't know his future asperations as far as being a student or a pro baseball player. That will play a huge factor as to what he does. If he comes back and has another good year at the plate, his stock would rise. I'm just not sure how much his ceiling is as far as a prospect and if he is at that point or not. He might look at his stock is as high now as it ever is.
With his off the field activities, it wouldn't surprise me if he has sights on something other than pro baseball.

I agree about the Tommy Tanks homer, it signaled that we were back.
No way I would ever refer to the "Intimidator" as the "Intimidator". I considered it as a banner with our excedingly past national championships.

re: How about Cowan with that bounce back performance, legendary.

It sure was, he has struggled badly the last month. Hopefully it will be wrapped up by then, but he will be ready to go if there is a monday game, which allows us the option of using Evans to close out games 1 or 2 if necessary.
re: Kyle Peterson looked like he wanted to cry with the Arkansas players
Posted by TigerDM on 6/19/25 at 11:05 am
As an LSU fan, I felt very bad for the Arkansas players that made bad plays that contributied to out victory. I'll certainly take a victory however we can get it, just prefer to win it, not the other team lose it.
Also, the network wanted a Thursday game. It would have been slanted in LSU favor had they been the team with 1 loss. Another LSU - AR matchup would have been huge for everyone involved in the CWS so they wanted that extra game very badly.

re: Aloy didn’t show up for the post game press conference

He had some guady stats for the season, but he did almost nothing in the 5 games against LSU.
re: Anyone know when ticket office will release Clemson tickets?
Posted by TigerDM on 6/10/25 at 10:27 am
SEC is one of the few conferences that forces the home team to give the visitors seats in the lower bowl. I remember when A & M came into the conference, they forced them to displace season ticket holders to free up 1000 tickets in the lower bowl. Big 12 didn’t give any tickets to visitors in the lower bowl

Bird man was good, he just occasionally made the bird sounds but
not that many times per game to make it annoying

re: Ben McDonald...I didn't realize that he was at LSU on a Hoops scholarship

When you call the game of a team many times in a season and have to fill 3 hours + of time p, virtually impossible to not repeat yourself numerous times from game to game
re: Ole Miss and Texas OUT
Posted by TigerDM on 6/3/25 at 12:45 pm
Only half of the 8 SEC teams hosting advanced. Vandy, Texas, Georia and Ole Misss all go down. Amazing for how strong the SEC has been all year,
something to be said about after the effort it takes to get through the conference season, there's nothing left for the regionals.

re: Derek Curiel isn’t the SEC Freshman of the Year
Posted by TigerDM on 5/20/25 at 1:25 pm
This was a tough year voting for freshman of the year.
You had 3 very worthy candidate, I thought Rembert from Auburn
might win too.
Crews didn't win it and was All American the next 2 years.
Glad with have Curiel, but all 3 players were deserving

re: You do not send milam home!

You have him going at full speed while watching the throw from the outfiedl.
When you see the good throw to the relay man, you put up the brakes.
At this point Milan is just rounding 3rd as the relay man is about to catch the throw. It was a very easy relay throw to get him out at home by 20 feet.

re: Eyanson has quietly become our best pitcher

It's an amazing improvement we have seen as the season as went on.
He has always had good stuff, but always had a bad inning thrown in with 4-5 dominate innings. The last several weeks he has eliminated that bad inning and has become very relieable starter going deep in every start.

re: We need to have a Curiel vs. freshman Crews discussion
Posted by TigerDM on 4/28/25 at 8:33 am
As great as Crews was as a freshman, the most amazing thing about him to me is that he got significantly better offensively and defensively every year.
You just don't see you best player from the previous years team, also the most improved player.

re: ESPN Article on WBB Johnson
Posted by TigerDM on 4/24/25 at 10:20 am
Top player have the majority of their money coming from direct deals with national companies/brands that would stay with them if they go to the WNBA. They money they lose would be from local companies and collectives with are tied in with the player being at LSU. Johnson has both and I'm sure the majority of her money is coming from brands that would stay with her, ie her shoe deal. I'm sure she has a good amount of money coming from G, Cane's and other. The decision is if that money can be replaced
re: Anybody excited to see Van Lith reunite with Angel girl?
Posted by TigerDM on 4/17/25 at 9:56 am
It depends if they understand how to best use HVL. She is a very good catch and shoot, but will struggle to create a shot against a good defender and she cannot guard a quick player as showed against Texas
re: Who would be all time starting 5 for wbb?
Posted by TigerDM on 4/10/25 at 2:23 pm
We don’t hear much of anything about how good Joyce Walker was.
She was one of the few players from that era that was athletic enough to play in today’s game. It’s tough to name an all time five once you get past Augustus and Fowler. There’s about 10 players that you could easily justify for those 3 spot, depending on your style of play

re: Walker Howard biggest QB bust out of high school the last 20 years?

Just take a look at the Elite 11 website and past participants.
It shows you how overated many QB's were. They vast majority
of participants didn't come anywhere near their projections.

Half way through the first rotation, I knew that 2 of the sec teams were in trouble, just glad it wasn’t the us. Michigan st did very basic, low difficulty routines and stuck landing. Ky and AR did so much more difficult routines and did them well, but couldn’t overcome them keeping a sec out
