A football game is not the appropriate place/time IMO.

Why? It's like 30 seconds of action (or inaction) before the game even starts and then it's over. What would be a proper place/time for you?

You people are insufferable. I'm sick of this even being an issue - these guys can demonstrate however they want; I honestly don't care. But the fact that some of yall get so worked up over this is pathetic.

What a ridiculous statement. THese guys chose this method of protest precisely because they knew the reaction it would garner. It is appropriate for them to deal with the consequences.

None of this is easy.

There are other ways to protest. Who knows if they are more or less effective.

Who the hell are you to decide when and where the appropriate times to protest are?

People making contradictory statements do tend to be confusing. A football game being an "appropriate" place to protest, has nothing to do with my response. Which makes me think you are the confused one.

I don’t tune in, dipshit. Haven’t watched an NFL game this season. Specifically because I don’t want politics in my face. So yea...?

His point turns to shite. You literally have to watch him kneel rather than stand for it to be "pushed in your face."

>I tuned in to NFL football games to watch football, honestly just to give me something to do when college football isn’t on because their product is moderately shitty at this point anyway

>SJW dickheads making millions of dollars per year decide to use that as an outlet to protest nonexistent police violence

>I’m faced with 2 options, quit watching the NFL or allow someone like Eric Reid to force their own personal political views on me while I tune in to watch a sporting event completely unrelated to their political views

>I quit watching NFL football

>And that’s that

So no, your point is shite and mine is still completely valid. You are a complete fricking idiot who doesn’t understand how the world works, enjoy flipping burgers your entire life

You could start with something that has to do with what your protesting. I'm unsure the connection our flag and national anthem have with police brutality. Maybe select police stations where they feel the racist police officers are working at?

Also, it helps to actually have reality on your side before you pick something to protest. These football players kneeling protesting police brutality against blacks might as well be protesting police brutality against men. For whatever reason the former is seen as legit and the second is, rightfully, seen as laughable despite the same statistics backing the former also back the latter.

For real, who does he think he is? A customer the NFL wants to retain or something!??!!?

You can eat the biggest BOD ever. You sorry piece of shite.

That flag is the reason these kids and adult players get the opportunity to play this game and get paid for it.

As a veteran I resent any bag of shite who protest our flag and any other BAG OF shite that supports these protesters.

ForeverEllisHugh, if I was in arms reach of you right not, Id personally pull every fricking tooth you have out of your mouth and break your goddamn fingers

So many of you veterans think you are holier than thou, and are extremely hypocritical to this subject.

My old boss was an Army Ranger, something most humans cant accomplish or do, and he has no problem with these players kneeling since he served for their right to do so.

Do you think ReelTiger1 would "pull every fricking tooth" out of your old boss' mouth and break his "goddamn fingers" if he was within his reach?

True, for some reason many vets don't understand how absolute freedom of speech is. And honestly it should be apparent... Who would what the government deciding what a citizen can and cannot protest about the government?

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with Reid, there's nothing wrong with boycotting the NFL because they're allowing their employees to behave in such a manner, but threats of violence or suggesting that the first amendment doesn't cover protests against the government are waaaay out of line and really hard to imagine coming from someone in the military.

Those things are either symbols of the state or agents for the state. Have you actually looked into 'police involved shootings'? They do not face the same standard for killing another human being that non-police would. That makes no sense to me. I think the standard for using lethal force should be higher for the police. On the other hand, any state with police who are the only ones allowed to use force is a police state.

Yea, so? They're symbols for a lot of different things. Why target something that's so broad when you can target something that's much more to the point - like a specific police station or court house? Or a specific politician who's blocking whatever reform you want to happen?

They're just as human and subject to death or injury as everyone else, I see no reason they should have to clear higher standards than you or I.

Well guess what. We're not monolithic either. Just like "all" African Americans or "all" police or "all" women.

When I was in Iraq in 2011 I was attached to a unit with Green Berets and Rangers. They were a pretty diverse group and not very political.

No one has suggested this. What is true, however, is that these players doing this doesn't have anything to do with the first amendment.
