Did anyone notice Lenard Fornette kneeling a couple of weekks ago on national television? I did and Im done! No more NFL for me. College football is better and more exciting anyway. Fornette is just jumping on the bandwagon and probably has no idea what the reason for kneeling is.

You don''t use your freedom to disrespect the ones that give you said freedom. Half of these kids don't know what oppression is. I've seen oppression and poverty. Go to Guatemala and tell me they would not put their lives on the line in order to become an American

This is a human rights issue which Reid said is not black or white or about the military, the flag, but social injustice. The South is still fighting the Civil War and displaying Confederate flags and monuments.

Something I can agree with him about.

I do wonder how he feels about affirmative action and racial quotas, though. If we're going to talk about racism entrenched in government and not cover that we're not having an honest conversation.

It's mind boggling how some don't understand that the players aren't protesting veterans, the national anthem or the country.

This. Only thing I’d change is “some” to “most.”

While true, how dumb do you have to be to see most of the nation not understanding your message and then you refuse to change your message...

Fact is that 99% of the idiots here who are “outraged” and “appalled” and “disappointed” and boycotting the NFL and tearing down eric reid have never served a day in their lives and yet have all this fake outrage on behalf of our vets.

Read this article about one true American Hero and VETERAN who stands up (or should I say kneels down) for their right to protest. Thats what makes America great.

I wasn't aware you had to serve in the military in order to be able to detect immense stupidity...

Question, who actually thinks that the NFL players constitutional rights do not protect their expression of kneeling during the anthem?

Answer: Pretty much no one.

Stop with the strawmen. You bitched about how most people pretended this was about the vets and now you're doing the exact same thing by trying to pretend that its about the constitution.

You don’t not have to serve. Being an American is enough.

Don't use the word "fact" in a post containing total BS.

The fact that some don't see how this is disrespectful and troublesome is what is pathetic

With all due respect to John the topic at hand is not anyone’s right to kneel , but whether or not it’s Appropriate to do so on Veterans Day weekend. And that link you provided doesn’t say anything at all about what John’s opinion might be for anyone in kneel on Veterans Day. from what I have read, the large majority of players who had been kneeling, didn’t do so on Veterans Day weekend. I think that probably says something about them not wanting to do anything that could be construed as disrespectful to the veterans.

As a combat vet myself, I think protesting during the playing of the national anthem is about as shitty as it gets and shame on the NFL for allowing it to happen.

Simply another example of political correctness run amok. imo

You're taking it wayyyyy too personally. He and a bunch of other players have a problem with being forced to stand for the anthem of a nation that they feel is rife with injustice

Then they can leave. If they feel that this country is so bad...they can leave. Good luck finding a country where they can make the money that they make playing a game that they love. There isn't a law in this country that states one race can oppress another. All those laws were changed in the 1960's. Every legal citizen of this country has the same opportunities to pursue whatever employment they want. If they can not get said employment, our country pays for their housing, food, utilities etc...this is the greatest country in the world, frick those who think otherwise.

Can you dumbasses please take a minute to understand WHY and WHAT these players are protesting?!?!

Why dumbass? Because of some fake arse oppression? Get that sh*t out of here. This is probably the least oppressive time in human history. There are more fake, made up stories about oppression and racism than there actually is oppression and racism. They are protesting for some BS cause that isn't there, against a country that gives them more opportunity than most other countries would. And why, because some dumbass wants to try and fight a cop? Go back and look, DUMBASS, at the incident Colin Keapernick started his kneeling craze and see how this whole thing started.

you're splitting hairs.

Once he puts on that uniform and gets on the field.....do your job.
I meant before or after the game....as in way before/after.
Like in the locker room or at a news conference, or at an organized protest....where his celebrity might lend credibility to the march and the cause.
You know as well as I, you can fight the cause behind the cameras.
I mean, he has the right to be a lightning rod for controversy if he wants...but he and the people that support him should not be surprised when there is subsequent backlash and criticism.

Agree, and per the Constitution men have a right to be morons. Reid is taking advantage of this right. Good luck to him.
