just listen when i tell y’all this and this is the last time on this walker howard stuff for me because i am tired of explaining it like this other guy has.. walker wouldn’t be at lsu right now if kelly doesn’t take this job.. he was about to de-commit and take jack bech with him.. the real jack will show up next season.. we are taking our beatings this year but next year we are winning it all with walker.. daniels is gone just like the rest of the trash qbs we had here over the last year.. we have our qb and we have our team for next year.. the secondary will not be thrown on at all with welch and allen.. these boys all know each other from the lafayette area.. they know why they came to LSU..

I’ve been saying this about Howard before the season started. This past weekend has no impression of thoughts on Howard.

This is so typical of LSU fans - the sexiest player on the team is the backup QB. You’ve got nothing to base this on unless you’re going by a few handoffs and a designed run because that’s all he’s done in an LSU uniform. I’ve seen a lot of LSU QBs play in high school that looked great at that level but not at LSU.

If Howard is named starter next year, Nuss transfers and Collins will become backup.

Nuss is going to TCU...Walker is QB next yr and gets beat up pretty bad behind another weak offensive line...Walker will have a hard time adjusting to the speed of the college game next year ...maybe in his 3rd year we can expect great things from him but not unless we get some hosses up front and a few good running backs...

JD won't play QB in the NFL. He should learn to be a wide receiver for his own future.

see how Saban plays Milroe and the guy lights it up. How many other freshmen or RS freshman QBs has Saban played?
doesn't hurt that they have 5 stars at Oline and WR all over the field.

I get your point but tua and Bruce young came in with LOADED teams around them.

I like Howard and hope he lights it up. A RS freshman obviously CAN light it up, but pretending his HS tape automatically translates is foolish

Those some true freshmen QB I am referring to are Johnny Manziel (Won Heisman), Jameis Winston (Won Natty & Heisman), Michael Vick (awesome year), JT Barrett (great year).

Not saying Walker Howard will be good as those guys, but they were true freshmen and he will be a 2nd year guy next year, with a great pedigree, so he can do well in his 2nd year
both manziel and Winston were RS freshman their h eisman seasons.

just read that back to yourself.

WH may be good, he may be REALLY good. But y'all need some historical reference for these can't miss recruits. Especially if your saying that because you watched him in high school.

I remember telling people Josh Booty was the next Dan Marino after watching him shred defenses for 4 years in HS

Daniels is QB1 next season too.

If that truly happens, then next years team is fricked. It least right now thinking and hoping Howard comes in there's something to look forward to.

Rules say you can transfer once has a non graduate and once as a graduate.

Wasn't JD already a graduate when he came here?

Eta- yes he was. Not sure how to interpret the second transfer rule if youve already transferred as a grad

Well when you're playing notable world beaters Indiana, Navy, and Temple by 30+ you're going to have an "elite" offense until you run into actual competition in Notre Dame (barely won) and Bama.

.. WoW.. should be a record setting year next year with a super hero Wr and Super hero Qb who hasn’t played a single down against an SEC opponent.. this isn’t high school ball anymore..the speed of the college game is 10 times faster than the speed of high school ball..will he/they succeed??.. who knows..we shall possibly see in the years to come..

LSU has had two morons occupy the HC position over the last 17 years with a merry-go round of OCs.
How many OCs has "moron" Saban been through?

That's CFB. Successful OCs move up and unsuccessful move on.

Stupidity like this is why tRant's favorite QB is whoever the backup is. They come in, the next backup is the favorite and so on. Unrealistic expectations. Even all-world QBs take years to develop see Joe Burrow.

I still think Brian Sparacino got short-changed. If only....

Kelly has never had an elite offense in big boy football. Why would we ever expect it here?

He wants to play it safe and conservative and make sure our offense does not lose the game

I'll say this, which has nothing to do with Walker's on the field merit... but he looks to be very involved every time I look on the sidelines. High fiving players coming off the field, sitting with the QBs after a good or bad drive. Celebrating when someone scores or positive happens.

Just gives me a good vibe and excited to see his future.
