This is especially true during football season when in most states there are different rules for high school, college, and pro football.

This x 1000000! I hate this rule. The only other rule that really needs adjusting is the celebration policing. I want to say it was Clemson who got screwed during the Regionals that shite needs to change as well.

Its growing a bit in popularity every year.

There are def some things that would help with the rules.

First, lets get back to the normal college zone, no one wants to see all these walks.

The clock rule on the pitcher and batter between pitches is a good one.

we need to extend the first base bag another 6 inches out into foul territory. and i dont think it was a bad call against florida the other day. That dude ran inside the line the whole way down until the last 2 steps.

we need to get at least half scholarships for all players.

No reason for any umpire in the field to be involved with a review. Make your call, have the eye in the sky do a quick review from the press box

The lines are part of the lane, so stepping on the line is not a violation. Also, one foot in or on the line and the other foot in the air is permitted. The batter-runner must take two consecutive steps totally outside the lane to violate the rule. If interference is called, the ball is immediately dead and the batter-runner is out; any other runners return to the base occupied at the time of the pitch (NFHS 8-4-1g, NCAA 7-11p, OBR 5.09a11).

I don’t think the Florida player last night even touched the line.

Violation the correct call
This. I don't think the rule is dumb at all. The batter knows it and can see the lane. It's not hard to get a foot on the base from there. That runner stayed left the entire time.

Start times based on seeding, or better, the option of when to start based on seeding. If there is no way to start 4 games on Friday or Saturday, then at least have some system that rewards the lower seeded team. UF Started PM Friday, LSU, Saturday PM. Wake, the 1 Seed started Saturday AM.

Regionals as well. UF was in before LSU threw a pitch. Perhaps it becomes 2 events with a small break before the finals. I'm sure the country would rather see2 teems at full strength.

This...they just need to put a dual bag at 1st to eliminate this...i would keep the rule for those that run on the inside of the line but put a dual bag so there is no question

You should have to actually pitch 4 balls to intentionally walk the batter. Its too easy now to put a good hitter on base. Mistakes can happen when throwing intentional balls and its always been part of the game.

CWS Finals needs to be its own weekend. No more teams getting an advantage by the opponent not being able to use their ace because their bracket was tougher.

These umps were changing the strike by innings and batters at times.

I understand the tradition of the game as long as the zone is consistent.

But I think it would be nice if the zone was the same for every game, every batter, and every pitcher.

Yes, getting rid of a few unqualified umps that don’t know a simple strike zone. Jeff Head should be at the top of the list. He is so inconsistent it is embarrassing.

No because he was so far inside the line all the way down

For the SEC get rid of or single elimination Conference Tourney.

If a team goes through the bracket undefeated there should be some sort of advantage over a team that goes through the losers bracket.

Just like in the majors if a team sweeps, it gets the advantage over the team that went 7 games.

Like college football it’s dominated by the South. I don’t really care if it grows but if it is going to, they would need some good teams from other regions to consistently be good.
They have already addressed this several times, first by expanding the field in the postseason and then moving the season back to accommodate cold weather schools. Apparently that is not enough.

Add about 15 more scholarships

That won't help with the SEC dominance.

I would change the playoff format to allow for a couple more days rest for the 2 finalists. this series was one of the greatest for competitive games except for the finals. the first game was great, and then both teams ran out of pitching for one game. the games would've been closer. it just makes sense for the champion ship to be played at full strength.

NIL may trump this, but full scholarships.

That is purely a Title 9 issue. Because football takes up so many scholarships and there is not any women's counter to football, other sports have to suffer. Baseball took the hit because it was not really a significant college sport at the advent of the Title 9 era. NIL is the savior as far as this goes.

Charles Schwab needs some serious re-work. That stadium is crap for a lot of reasons.

1. Figure out a way to change the direction of the field. Will cost a frick ton of money, but it makes 90% of games there boring. You can hit it 115 mph off the bat at the perfect angle at not hit homeruns. That's silly.

It's also a boring venue and very sterile. It has no soul. Figure out a way to make it better all-around. The stadium itself should be a destination.

That and everything else said in this thread that doesn't need repeating.

well considering biological males are now competing in women sports title IX is pretty much useless at this point so give the baseball team its 20+ scholarships instead of the 11.7. I love the world series being in Omaha but they need to move the fence in at Charles Schwab field.
