He COULD make 2 of those 3 throws.

The first two were actually thrown with touch. The third was zipped. I don’t think Daniels with his release could have made the third throw.

The bigger issue Daniels, based on history, WOULDN’T make any of those throws. He had trouble releasing the ball if he doesn’t see the WR open.

Ironically, the one route that he throws with anticipation (the comeback route on the outside) ended up in an interception because Nabors fell down.

I agree with this post, but JD has NEVER had a 60 yard run in college.

His ypc on designed runs is incredible. His ypc on scrambles is awful, he’ll have 20 yard scrambles but he’ll take sacks he shouldn’t and takeoff for 0-2 yard gains a lot. We should be calling more runs for him and fewer passing plays.

Daniels led us to the SEC Championship last year.

Daniels 3 game stretch of Florida ole miss and Alabama was really good. Elite even. Then he stopped pushing the ball downfield and challenging DB’s. Go back and watch those three games and watch the Florida state 23 game and see how much different the approach is from him. I don’t know what happened but he became super risk adverse and conservative. Night and day difference.

Nuss can't break 60 yard runs

Neither could:

Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Dan Marino
Joe Montana

And this list goes on...

A QB should get the ball to those who can run for 60 yards

I knew on the first drive we were in trouble when I saw the oline getting destroyed. Either FSU has monsters, or we have a problem

Having your offensive lineman (#70) blown off the line 3-4 yards does not help either Daniels or Nussmeier.

Having 5 defensive players beating 7 offensive players in to block does not help the case for either QB

Having your LT taken to school by FSU's defense does not help either

So yeah, by all means put Nussmeier in...yeah, go ahead. Results would be that we lose by 14 instead of 21?

we really won't ever know because he didn't get to throw a single pass. I know nuss gets the ball out of his hands a lot quicker from what we've seen and late in the season last year he seemed to have greatly improved not forcing plays like he did vs southern. He seems to process info quickly and throw the ball to the playmakers on the field. Lacey didn't have stone hands when nuss was on the field.
