ULL pitchers by comparison Fluno - 3.80
Christie - 3.37
Rawls - 2.11

It's pretty clear who cared about winning this game (rightfully so for ULL, big resume booster for them in RPI) and who was just using up some rag arms

Y’all say this every time. Are they good arms. Yes, are they weekend starters, no.

Does the game mean more to UL than LSU, yes. Because the SEC is fricken stacked and LSU doesn’t have to do as much to get into a regional. While UL has to finish in the top 3 in the SBC and win most of the midweek games.

But to act like it doesn’t matter to the players and fans is asinine. There is literally 20 threads about this game. The Cajuns were without two of their best players and LSU was without some of theirs.

If our pitching doesn’t crap the bed against Troy and walk 20 batters over the weekend then it would have been 2 ranked programs for a midweek game. To act like UL is Southern or Grambling is ridiculous.

With the win last night the Cajuns will be an at large team. Likely going back to BR for a regional.

We’ve lost 4 of the last 6 against them. I get the “it’s their Super Bowl” blah blah. But if this team wants to win a championship they have to set a higher standard.

the last time LSU won a championship, they lost to USL that season.

Cajun fans HAVE to be loving tRant today. Some of you really need to get over it.

ALL ULaLa, ALL THE TIME

They have a decent program. Yesterdays result means absolutely nothing at all whatsoever to LSU in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, we are. The melt is actually better that the result of the game.

It was a huge boost to the resume for UL and barring a total collapse down the stretch should solidify a regional.

The level of LSU hate in Acadiana has always surprised me. It continues unfortunately.... But.. I would rather lose to ULL vs any SEC opponent.

Yes we should just brush it off. They played a great game and won. End///

The players want to win but the majority of LSU's players aren't from LA or close by so those guy don't view UL any different than other midweek games

yall's RPI is 64 - better get into the 40s to secure that at large

Doubt it. The NCAA doesn't do this as much as they used to

I know I for one will be sitting in Omaha watching the Tigers play, thinking about that midweek loss to the Cajuns.

Tell me, what’s a higher standard, than being ranked the number one team in the country??

We lost. Congratulations to ULL. You never want to lose, but it happens sometimes in baseball.

Is this even a question? Of course you brush it off, learn from your mistakes, and move on to the next opponent.

ULL always fields a competitive baseball team. I'm not calling it their "Super Bowl", but a midweek win for them against the number 1 team in the country is huge for their postseason resume. On the flip side, the number 1 team in the country losing a midweek game doesn't really hurt that much in terms of RPI.

Move on, they played the better game yesterday. Tip your hat to them and get ready to whoop Ole Piss.

the rational ones aren’t upset, but let’s not pretend like there aren’t a fair share of posters who are livid over yesterdays result! Obviously wanted to win but that midweek result isn’t going to hurt us at all.

congrats to them on the win. It was just one game but still a resume builder for them and I for one enjoy seeing the Louisiana schools fill up regionals. As long as they’re not playing the Tigers I root for them.

WT ever loving F! Yeah, a mid-week game when you started a guy who you knew would only pitch 1 inning and you gave a bunch of other struggling pitchers a chance. And, you've been ranked #1 since the pre-season. I swear, I hate a good portion of LSU fans.
