I just pulled up 1991.

LSU lost to Northwestern, Tulane twice, and McNeese.

Do you know what else they did?

They won the world series. You people that can't understand even the worst team in baseball has a chance to beat the best team in baseball need to stop posting.

This is the long and short of it. The sentiment of “Should never lose to” shouldn’t be uttered when talking baseball.

I left off a loss to SELA.

Yes, you brush it off. It’s not football.

As an adult I've started brushing off most LSU loses.

Especially since 2019. Been to the mountaintop in sports life. Everything else is gravy.

Doesn't mean 2020 and 2021 didn't suck. But it helped me appreciate 2022 with a big ole smile.

Baseball is the same. Too many dang games to let them eff up my mood for a day. Maybe a post season elimination or something. But not a random 30thish game on a Tuesday in April.

We’ve lost 4 of the last 6 against them. I get the “it’s their Super Bowl” blah blah. But if this team wants to win a championship they have to set a higher standard.

Game one of a regional or a super...yes it is a big deal....Tuesday in April much bigger deal to USL than LSU.

Ask yourself this if they sweep the next two SEC series will you care about this loss in 3 weeks?

If the answer is no then the answer today is no.

If we lose the series at Ole Miss, No.

If we win the series at Ole Miss, Yes.

Sooo, what would you do? File a lawsuit? This game is obviously more important to ULL. Don’t forget that. They used their weekend pitching. We didn’t play as well as we usually do. The only thing we can do move on.

Yes.

Next question.

Midweek games are nothing more than glorified practice to the top teams while the little minor schools like ULL treat it like their World Series.

Nah..... The tigers will do just fine. While ULL is not SEC caliber, they have a decent team. You win some. You lose some. Move on to the next contest.

We as fans brush off the loss and look to the next game. I am sure the team and the coaches are doing the necessary retro!

LSU hasn't lost an SEC series against all top 15 teams with some in the top 5. Who gives a shite? This isn't football where 1 loss ruins your season.

Bring them down here against a regional against LSU and see how many they win.

We lost to ULL in 2009, guess what we won that season

Also the ERAs of the pitchers we threw last night:
Coleman - Season debut
Hurd - 7.09
Cooper - 6.18
Dutton - 6.75
Money - 6.05

ULL pitchers by comparison
Fluno - 3.80
Christie - 3.37
Rawls - 2.11

It's pretty clear who cared about winning this game (rightfully so for ULL, big resume booster for them in RPI) and who was just using up some rag arms

I can’t believe we put up with Skip Bertman all those seasons with those mid-week losses we had under him.
