People here act like ULL isn't a good quality team from a quality conference. What these dumb asses seem to forget is, it was a "sunbelt" team that handed their arses to them and kicked them out of the regionals last season

Last game I saw they were better. Maybe defining better would be a better way getting around to it.

In college baseball the better team is determined by a 3 game series.

Two examples:

LSU beat Miami in 1996 to win the CWS
LSU beat Bama in 1997 to win the CWS.

Miami and Bama were better than LSU.
LSU would have been crushed in a 3 game series vs Miami in 1996 and Bama in 1997.

Now the CWS is decided by a 3 game championship series. That is how you define better and best.

It just might be that way, but at least my school doesn’t spend millions of dollars to block a name change that they don’t care about.

Initially when USL submitted its intention to rename or rebrand their moniker to become the University of Louisiana, the university had followed every applicable guideline, rule, or established precedent set forth by the state.

The agreement was that none would attempt it. That was the only applicable guideline. The other member schools drastically underestimated the douchebaggery of the ULL administration.

So fearful were the tigah backing legislators, they drafted and passed a new state law to prevent “lil brother” from changing its name.

Awful lot of typing to acknowledge that ULL is not, has never been, will never be "UL".

No. Shut down the program. Fire everyone. All meet at the Mississippi River bridge tonight so we can end all the pain and suffering together. It’s time.

That's exactly EVERYONE'S point. They are different sports. You just helped make it

How many games is a World Series?

How many games is a Super Bowl?

Pick your any game, any series and its complimentary.

It’s a one loss (reflecting unlike in football) but it’s the HOW you loss, in this case an embarrassing loss against a lesser conference, caused by errors, and less qualified pitchers?

Bon soir

The lack of self-awareness by this many posters is just astounding. Its one thing to not understand or maybe even THINK you know what you are talking about. But to actually post a thread like this is just beyond me. I don't understand how so many people cant understand the difference between sports and that you cant apply the same set of standards. They are completely different games. You would think that people would catch on, especially after we LSU fans have so many examples of exactly how much games like last night dont matter. Sure, none of us WANT to lose, but that's not how it works in baseball. USL played a perfect game and threw some of their top arms last night. We gave a guy his first start after a year off with TJ. That should tell you all you need to know about what LSUs plan for that game was. But its every year and for some reason it doesn't get any better as the season progresses.

Which top 2 Cajun players were OUT?

Nice game last night! Congrats on the Win. That was a smooth SS playing!
UL-L deserves plenty credit! I expect to see them in a BR or a Tex/Ark Regional.

It does matter! LSU had outscored Mid Week opponents so far this season 105 -22 (including #13 Texas). LSU simply is not the same w/o Gavin Dugas. Still no excuse.

Just really weird....NEVER have seen anything like it watching 2 Fly Ball Outs DROP in the Twilight with those sheets of broken clouds. My brother & I were in the LCF bleachers and lost the ball too! Crews and Morgan never saw it either. Costly runs and the wheels fell off!

Go Win the Sun Belt!
