I was at a bar in New Orleans, LA, when he caught that TD against Auburn. The place went nuts. Some guy took his wife's bra, put it on his head, and motor boated her in excitement!

I'd imagine he had some serious head trauma when he was in a coma after his car accident...

No, I can post what I want to post. I'm not interested in being the coolest guy on the message board. Wasn't trying to be "in the know" just stating an opinion of the guy. From what I know, he's had problems since at least 2007.

For that 07 Auburn game I was the guest of a recruit on an unofficial visit. Sat in the NE EZ with all the high profile recruits. Fans basically begging these kids, myself included to come to LSU.

We were walking down to the field during that last drive. We were maybe 10 rows up from field level when Byrd caught the pass. TS going BONKERS! A fan on the aisle looked at the recruits, said Geaux Tigers, and threw a bundle of cash into the air. All singles, but I grabbed a few and will never forget the stadium going crazy as bills fluttered down. Got to go on the field and in the locker room after the game. Awesome experience.

CTE isn't as much of an issue for WRs. They get a lot less head contact over the years than linemen, RBs, and LBs.

Doesn't mean they don't get it.

Ask Demaryius Thomas, Vincent Jackson, and Chris Henry.

He was still huge, he had just slimmed down a bit. Had to rib him a bit to start things off.

Hung out with him and JV at Cheetahs in ATL after the Peach Bowl in '19. Seemed like I remember him limping real bad or rehabbing from an injury. Anyway, CSB

My favorite DByrd story is before he even suited up for us.

Grades were a big issue for him, so he went the JUCO route. LSU and several others were after him at JUCO, but lots of speculation he'd never qualify to get out of JUCO.

He'd committed to LSU and it was late summer. Finally, we got word that he somehow had passed and was heading to LSU. He announced it on Twitter by saying "I'm cleared! Heading to LSU! And to all you who doubted, frick all y'all with an AIDS dick!"

It has to be traumatic to go from the adulation of tens of thousands to relative obscurity and societal insignificance. If he developed no real knowledge or or social skills during his education as a Tiger, all the more worse when football disappeared.

So many troubled individuals. Hard time for athletes who experience the “glory days” and then lose it. Especially for the weak and psychologically impaired who had nothing else. Programs should be aimed at this for athletes. I assume they are.

You should've framed one of those bills. BTW did the recruit end up a Tiger?

Damn bro, D Byrd was in good shape at LSU when I was there between 2011-2014. Sad to see him fall this much
