He used to work for my brother a few years ago, and was limping around. Could barely walk

I sat next to his JUCO Coach during a game in 2007. I think it was the Arkansas game. Don't remember which. Just remember his former coach saying over and over "What should we do? Thow it to 2!"

Poor Demetrius.

You make your bed and you have to sleep in it afterwards.

All the little idollizng and worshipping LSU Sycophants on here that are so concerned.

no, he's just crazy.

Can't blame everything on CTE. It's real, of course, but don't use it as a universal excuse for bad/nutty behavior.

I went to Pearl River Community College where D Byrd went. Had a class where I sat right by the guy. After every game and in every class I was recruiting him to go to LSU. He kept telling me he was going to be a Volunteer. I'd like to take to take responsibility for his catch against Auburn. You're welcome baws!

This narrative needs to go away.

He was a damn fool his entire life. Got expelled from his first college.

Mike Tomlin should be a first ballot Hall of Famer for keeping a lid on AB's idiocy for as long as he did.

Both Jones and Byrd had their pro careers snuffed out before they even started by car crashes - Chad especially could have been a star in either sport.

No excuses for that kind of behavior, mental illness or not.

He had it all and chose to make poor decisions. Loser

I went to LSU around this time period and work in the Miami area. I was on the orange line a few months ago to go to work because my truck was in the shop and I'm pretty sure I saw him at one of the stations. I wasn't sure it was him because of how rough he was looking. I saw him at an event in BR maybe 6 Yeats ago and he looked the same as he did in college just a little out of shape. He looks like an old man now.

LSU has a program in place - at least they used to, for mental health aid after college.

Horrible to see this happen to Byrd and praying he gets the help he needs.
