Predictable but maybe they feel like they had to make a stand for appearance sake

Bend the knee Sankey.
No conference is bigger than LSU.

Sankey's mouthpiece now backtracking a step and saying that they're only complying with this order as it currently stands today.

Help me understand how can there be penalties later if they just said the players are eligible?

Now Sankey is setting the stage for a future legal fight against member schools who will have to defend themselves. Beyond dumb. Don’t think the Big 10 won’t consider coming in to sweep up schools the SEC litigates against.

All this negativity for LSU and Kiffin, and all unnecessary!
Kiffin is doing his job to constantly make his roster better....period!

Yeah you’d lose that suit quickly trying to retro actively enforce penalties

We don't need to take that gamble with future penalties as a possibility. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. We'd be crazy to possibly face those penalties. Let's play ball.....

I predicted the SEC would make the threat. But no timetable to adjudicate it by the SEC. Classic poor leadership.

Sankey got pantsed, all that screaming and he bends the knee. He should be ousted for making the sec look retarded

And here is one falling for scare tactics...lol. you csnt change the damn rules AFTER the fact and hold someone accountable and penalize them for following the rules. No court will take that case.....even boasberg

I don't think he is saying anything untrue unless the language of the ruling expressly prohibits it.
The judge could amend his ruling or even make it part of the ruling if the preliminary injunction is overturned, to prohibit future penalties for the time when the preliminary injunctions were in place, but what he is saying does appear to be a possibility.
This was something that was discussed well before now on this board.
I do not expect the SEC to do anything to LSU, and if they try, I expect LSU to fight it. It's a lot to deal with, though, and is part of the reason I wonder if walking away is the right call. This, like everything in life, is a risk-reward calculation. The whole juice/squeeze situation.
Whatever the Tigers decide, I'm all for it.

There is no fight, legally speaking. You can't penalize someone for following the rules in place....after the fact

Cant wait to see the massive melt......
