Uh, both of those football players I believe were 2nd team All SEC. And you left out the basketball player...not included in this suit but the same situation. Luis was Big East Player of the Year and 2nd team All American. If you don't think he isn't a key guy for Will Wade, you need to talk to him. Also, it is the principle of the thing...it is time to put the NCAA, the SEC, etc in their place. They discriminated against the class of 2022 by not making that 5 and 5 policy retroactive for them.

the SEC cannot do shite to a judge here who has federal precedents backing him. SCOTUS ruling and the colorado ruling.

You are I are probably a bit biased in favor of LSU and the SEC in competitions...best conference, etc But I have never liked Sankey. He puffs out his chest on everything...not just this. He keeps bragging about the SEC being the best football conference despite the Big 10 having won the last 3 NC. He also tries to basically tell the CFP how many SEC teams they should take before the season is even played. Being biased is one thing...shouting at windmills and being an embarrassment is something else. I wish he would be removed as head of the SEC.

"Negativity for Lane & LSU." Curious, why are Texas Aggies, Uk, Mizzo, Tenn. not mentioned anywhere / at all when they all have former professionals on their rosters. A total 0f 91 across the country..?? Why are former pro players, in basketball particularly, eligible to sign & play with NCAA schools & American players are not?

Obviously they can't. There are many instances where PAST games have been forfeited due to ineligible players....Vidal Alexander everyone probably remembers. But UNDER the rules AT THE TIME he was playing, he WAS ineligible. It just hadn't been uncovered yet. But unless there is fraud involved, you can't change the rules in the middle of the game.

Where was Sanky and his morals when Chambliss got a 6th year for some BS medical reason from a Mississippi judge?
In fact that ruling just showed how the NCAA has no teeth and lead to stuff like this.
At least in this case there is some sort of arguement. None of these kids (I assume almost none) would hae gone to the NFL. They were borderline even getting. drafted, so if they had the choice they would have come back for a 5th year.

They are confident the TRO doesn't become a full blown injunction on Thursday
Otherwise they are gonna fight this in federal court.
Nothing ab this report from Delly reads "this thing is over" to me

The SEC is not saying that the "players are eligible". They are saying they will comply with the court order. However if the conference wins an appeal they may be able to carry out the penalties.
I guess that's a risk Kiffin, Verge, Rousse are willing to take?

My god, yet another one. YOU CANNOT RETROACTIVELY PUNISH ANYONE FOR FOLLOWING THE RUKES AT THE TIME. IF RUKES CHANGE, AND YOUBDONT ABIDE BY NEW RUKES, YOU CAN BE PUNISHED. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.

It doesn't have to be proactive. I would say the players are ineligible from that point forward and could apply penalties if the teams don't comply.
It's possible that the conferences accepts it all and washes it's hands of a one year exception for the 2022 players impacted by the stupid way 5 for 5 was handled.

This makes zero sense. Sankey/the SEC are saying they will comply with this current court order allowing players to be eligible to play in the SEC. Schools will obviously comply as well. Does this mean the SEC would punish themselves too for complying and allowing these players to play on their teams right now if they later have the ruling overturned in Federal court??
If the Federal Court overturns the case, then teams would likely comply with that official ruling and not play any of these players. So what would there be to penalize at that point??
