That is a great question to be able to discuss. Do y’all realize how lucky we are to even consider this? Go Tigers!
I say 2023.
I say 2023.

This is like someone comparing the 01 Miami Hurricanes to the 2019 LSU Tigers.
Athletes have evolved very quickly over the last 20 years .
I think it would go like this based on that of our best teams to date.
2023
2025
2009
2000
91
97
96

OK?
But half of his innings were in the postseason and were basically as good as you can get.
1.2 hitless innings in the Championship game against Texas
1 hitless inning in the first of 3 against Texas
Got the final out of the 7th inning against Virginia in Omaha

‘09, ‘23, or ‘25. Any other result would be surprising

Why the down votes? It a question. I guess the salty puss mentality in here doesn’t allow for questions.

Dude, you took that a bit too personal for an AI experiment. You should go outside and get some sun. Your mom’s basement is too stuffy for you.

I call bullshite to that. Skip and Todd Walker both said to not be fooled by what a radar gun is saying. Ben McDonald threw every bid as hard as those throwing in the upper 90s to low 100 today. You guys keep pushing velocity, but we know the guns where they pick up the pitch is different today. They pick it up in the hand as opposed to somewhere right before the plate. That’s why both of them stated look at the reaction time of the hitter. They both did say more guys are throwing harder, but that doesn’t mean that the pitching is better. Command is everything when pitching
Go look at the 91 roster and get back to me when any of these teams compared to those number of major league pitchers. Putting a bat on a fricking is the same as it always been.
That’s why pitchers that are throwing between 85 and 94will beat your arse consistently if they command more than 3 pitches.
Give those teams the same training and equipment as today and I guarantee you with Skip coaching they whip all of them.
When a guy goes to the major league and hits 289 fricking pay attention. Those guys like Fontenot, Todd Walker, and Theriot all of them would fricking play and start over the guys that you have today including Milam and JORDAN Thompson.
You’re talking about a lead athletes and not fricking guys that might make it to AA ball.
Ty Walker was every bit or better than Derrick Curiel as a comparison.

1991didn't have the bats but pitching was
Paul Byrd- MLB All-Star
Mike Sirotka- half dozen seasons in the show
Chad Ogea- won 2 games for the Indians in the '97 World Series
Rick Greene- had a cup of coffee with the Reds

23 over 97,96,91. If they all had the 90s bats I think the pitching would have won it along with crews and others having those bats. It would have been fun.
The good thing is we have had the privilege of watching all these. We are very lucky

They didnt win the CWS But I might take the 87 team. Especially if Joey Belle isnt kicked off. Bell in RF Craig Faulkner catching Jack Voight at 3rd.
Rotation of Greg Patterson Stan Loewer and Mark Guthrie. Barry Manuel and freshman Ben Mcdonald in the pen!

What’s crazy is you can play that exact same tournament 10 diffrent times and prolly get 4-5 difffeemt winners.maybe more? All of them had the players to win on any given night. It’s fun to compare but baseball is a weird sport when sometimes ya just gotta tip your hat to the guy on the mound whose stuff was better than yours that night.

I like 23 over all, assuming everyone is using the same bats. The stuff being thrown now is way different than 30 years ago. You might see 100 once a month in 97, you might see 3 different guys do it in a night now.
ETA: and that's not to shite on any of the other years, the game is just different now.
This is usually what everyone does when they compare different era's, and while it makes sense on the surface, the problem is that we don't give the teams from yesteryear the same grace as we do with the teams from today. We say that today's hitters face better pitching and are used to it, and therefore would dominate 90's pitching, but we never ask ourselves what might those hitters from the 90's have done, given the chance to see higher velocity and spin rates more often. Modern baseball players don't drop out of a lab, ready to hit. They have to learn to adjust as they move up the ranks, just like every player from every generation. It's a mental game, more than physical for hitters. So how do we know that those great 90's hitters wouldn't have been able to calibrate their swings to be on time, just as today's hitters, if they saw it all the time?
The point is, it's really not fair to compare different generations. You have to assume too much, and it's why I don't like these questions about who's better. I'm not saying people shouldn't discuss it if they want to, it's just something I personally have no use for.
I can compare the last two or three, but I don't really care to do so, to be honest. It feels like trying to say who's my favorite child, when I'd love them all equally (if I had more than one, which I currently do not). Even though I realize the question was about "best" and not favorite.

2023 is hard to beat in a one game series.
Anderson pitched 16 innings and gave up 1 run in Omaha. People forget he was as dominant as skenes in the CWS, possibly more so
Also as a team 2025 gave up less than 3 runs a game in Omaha.
