1) This is utter bullshite.
2) Teams and conferences under the NCAA and associated with it, benefit from the CFP. While they tried to separate it, that is what it is.
3) If the NCAA uses the CFP rankings at the end (i.e. the winner of the CFP) as the national champions for that season even indirectly, then they are associated and the charade of it being a separate entity should be removed.
I would be all for a lawsuit against the joke that is the corrupt CFP and having it dismantled in court. Trying to play semantics will not work on some of these judges because they can see the reality.
Otherwise, the NCAA needs to completely remove any acknowledgment to the rankings or national championship from the CFP from any and all records. Plain and simple.

Kiffin in the playoffs is a CFP wet dream in terms of viewership ratings. Purposely removing LSU for a few players on a single season court issue would be a pretty insane move.
At the end of the day, the money pulled from ratings is the only thing that really matters.

This was the entire argument from the jump for people who thought none of this was worth it.
So the injunction is filed and now the line is "just don't play them"? In what world are yall righteous for one crooked institution beating another crooked institution and the players get hung out to dry.
From the jump LSU should have said "not worth the headache", these guys could have gone to MAC schools and all would have been well.
I know this will fall on deaf ears, but this entire charade is why Louisiana is full of fricking losers.

It’s going to be a mess when the players sue the SEC and the CFBP for tying up their season in red tape. It could end up having them get a sixth year and then we really have a soap opera. The chaos is self inflicted at this point

If we add them to the roster and just don’t play them, wouldn’t that be the best path?
Avoids the players suing LSU over violating a court order, and you can tell committee that they didn’t even see the field?
May be a locker room distraction but I honestly don’t know what else LSU can do at this point.

They can change their bylaws and say any team with players not approved by the NCAA or their Conferences are not eligible to be in the selection process and participate in the playoff.
So while they don't like it, per the SEC and NCAA these players are now eligible.

Im pretty sure that LSU has lawyers and advisors working 24/7 and contacting members of the CFP, NCAA and legal parties to make the correct decisions and moved forward appropriately in this matter. They will not put their team in a situation that could take away from accolades and championships. There are too many eyes on this situation. Since LSU has not thrown in the towel has me not worried on this matter. Let the big guys play chess. Im ready for Saturday!!!

The players were going to sue to play regardless of where their final playing destination was.

It's clearly not. It's become very emotional for many, though. Lots of in/out group biases.
If the SEC can get the federal court to permit it to rule LSU ineligible for the SEC title, then I imagine ban from the CPP is in order and then severe penalties are on the table moving forward. We'd have to prove the collusion with the CFP, which is possible but by no means a guarantee.
We are playing a high stakes game for bench fodder, and you have some people who think getting kicked out of the SEC would be good. I don't think this is really on the table, but it would be unfathomably terrible for LSU football.

Even if LSU has a court injunction allowing these former NFL players to play, at some point you have to consider the bigger picture. The CFP Selection Committee is made up of ADs, former coaches and players, including people with strong ties to other SEC programs.
If LSU is sitting on the playoff bubble in December, do we really want the committee debating whether LSU knowingly pushed the rules to gain an advantage?
Maybe LSU ultimately wins the legal fight. But is adding a couple of players worth creating a controversy that could hang over the entire season and potentially become a factor when the committee is comparing LSU to another 10-2 or 11-1 team?
I’m starting to wonder if the potential reward is worth the risk.
