The reason this Mike isn't going to games, is because he doesn't want to get in the cage.

My dog doesn’t want to go outside so I let him crap on the carpet.

This is a lame excuse.

You train an animal to want to perform behaviors you desire. Toss in some sirloin, drive him around the stadium, bring him back, and give him more delectables when he exists. Eventually he start salivating and pawing the gate when his trailer arrives.

THEY DO NOT WANT TO BRING MIKE TO THE STADIUM BECAUSE IT’S NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT.

Didn't we once have a Mike that was brought on the field that lived a very long time?
Maybe we need a man dressed purple and gold in civil war rebel attire depicting the real Fighting Tiger we were named for

Again, Memphis’ tiger is NOT AN ON CAMPUS MASCOT. That’s the difference. LSU has to follow the rules if they want to keep him on campus. The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries has strict rules to become an accredited sanctuary. This is one of them. This ensures that LSU will have live on campus mascots for years to come.

Roscoe did not like getting into his cage for the football games.

Because of that...the decision was made not to take Harvey to the games.

I love the tradition of bringing Mike to the games...but...A tiger does not know what football is so I have no problem with not bringing him.

Who’s game day experience is really affected by not having Mike being carted around the stadium for a few minutes before the game? This is such a stupid thing to get worked up over.

Just do a search and read one of the many other threads started by some mouth breather on this subject. They should correlate closely with those starting threads on “why wone duh ban play duh neck?”

Leave Mike the hell alone.

1) Who died and made the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries king? Or to put it another way, why should we care if they accredit us or not?
2) Who came up with these “strict rules” and again why should we care?
3) How does this assure that we continue to have future Mikes on campus. It would seem to me as long as Louisiana’s government keeps it legal the Global Federation can pound sand up their collective arses.
4) Bottom line, some self important group of Politically Correct morons calls themselves an important sounding name, makes shite up and called it rules, and gives a sticker saying we are keeping OUR tiger like THEY think we should.
5) And we are supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy about this.

How about we tell the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuary to put their strict rules up their tight PC arses and we do what we want without their sticker of approval?!

Politics say he can’t and our weak, pathetic leadership loves to let libtard loons set policies for them.

Then we never would’ve found someone to give us another tiger other than on the black market.

You hillbillies need to think of the bigger picture sometimes. Jesus........

In order for LSU to get another tiger legally LSU had to agree with the animal rights people not to take him into the stadium and use him as a mascot. We also had to spend about a million bucks on upgrading his habitat.

LSU got approved as a Tiger sanctuary or something like that so we could get tigers in the future.

My first LSU game was against Duke in 1958, and I've been attending games in Tiger Stadium since then. In all those years, I never once cared if Mike was in the stadium. It was such a small part of the experience, his presence was insignificant.
