Your problem is you think that logo means more than it does. You think that P5 schools scoop up all the talent and leave none for the rest. You look on paper and see height and weight, but not ability, intelligence, and drive.
You joking? There are 32 - 5 star players every year. When Houston got Ed Oliver it was the FIRST time a G5 school signed a 5 star.. ever.. They achieved some decent things like beating Oklahoma and Louisville, but they also lost to Navy and SMU. Drive only gets you so far.. Since the teams with the real talent are driven once in awhile too.

If I don't have the resume for the job, I don't get the job. Simple as that.

When we spank your arse, are you going to complain you didn't have your starting QB?
you mean how trant proclaimed that lsu would beat ND arse last year?
lsu fans get laughed at for pumping their chest and declaring victory before the game starts only to get laughed at afterwards

UCF is 8-28 vs Power 5 opponents since 2000 and only 3 of those 8 wins were against teams with winning records.

The issue is perception. As someone who grew up going to UCLA/USC games because his dad coached there, I can tell you the talent at UCF and in many G5 schools is no different.
As a person who didn't grow up going to UCLA/USC games with my dad because he didn't coach but did grow up learning to read and make heads and tails of documents when I read and when I read the NFL draft reports of ALL years of existence they show something very very different in 7 on 7 and P5 talent levels..
I grew up reading not writing

scheduling is done years in advance, and it's a roll of the dice on if those teams are actually going to be any good by the time you play them. UCF had UNC and Pitt scheduled this year. UNC, although cancelled due to hurricane, would have done nothing for the SoS. They are horrible.
When were they ever good teams to help SOS since you scheduled them years in advance and everything? (We’re very aware how scheduling works)

Ucf would go 6-6 against our schedule
Maybe. I’d say against our conference schedule that theyd go 0-8 most years and an occasional 3-5.

I truly hope this is how your team and coaches feel, too.

TCU joined a real conference and haven't gone undefeated since.

Stupid argument. Schedule the LSUs, Texas's, Auburns, Clemsons, Notre Dames, Oklahoma's, Washingtons, USC's, Michigan's, Ohio States hell even the Miss States, Ole Miss, Florida's, A&M's, Washington States, Wisconsins, South Carolinas more regularly and in a consecutive fashion on your schedule and then, only then will you get any respect.
Let me educate you since you're obviously not well educated. Teams like UCF don't get respect for playing one decent team a year then schedule that one team where you have 2 or more practices to prepare. That's a cop out.
Play some of the consistent top 25 teams and you'll know exactly what you have even 5 years down the road. Even if they aren't playing their best football that year, you'll still get some respect from scheduling those games. Beat them consistently, prove yourselves worthy to another conference or as an independent and you'll get those home at homes.
Until then don't come crying to us about how you didn't make the playoffs because 90% of the top 25 would be undeafeated with your worthless schedule. Again beating one good team by 3 points or less a year will get you nothing but questions marks. Any team can get up for one game a year.
Beat LSU convincingly and you'll get a little more respect. Even then LSU will be missing 50% of its starters for this game. If you're that good then you shouldn't have any problems beating this team easily. Good luck

UCFiesta
what you and idiots with an agenda fail to understand is that in the SEC and specially in the SEC West the largest part of the challenge is the physical grind imposed to all by the SEC competition. UCF will not be where it is with that constant schedule.
Can UCF play w anyone on a one-game basis, yes
but it is not the same.
