I've never umpired at a high level, but I cannot understand why you would want to have such a small strike zone. That's not fun for anybody including yourself. He is turning a 3 hour game into a 4.5 hour game.

Is this a good time to mention that there are run lines available for wagering for the NCAA Tournament? An umpire can make a good bit of money by having an insanely tight strike zone and throwing down on the over..
