Solely based on his HS career, I concur. If taking into account his LSU and NBA careers, Livingston is no where near the “best all time”. During his 2 years at LSU, RL only played in 29 games and averaged 10.4 pts per game. He averaged 6 ppg during his Sophomore year. Randy played 11 seasons in the NBA and only saw action in 203 games. He only started 19 games and averaged 3.8 ppg for his professional career.

Dude was never the same after blowing out his knee, and should have had similar careers to Iverson and Kidd had it not been for the injury.

Steve Van Buren was a man.

But for sheer athletic talent it would have to be Mike Miley. The guy was just special.

Chad Jones and Randy Livingston are right up there as well.

Will Clark went to Mississippi State, Beavis.

Mike Miley certainly is in the top 2 or 3.
Quarterback on the football team. A No. 1 draft choice on the baseball team.
We'll never know what he could have been with the Angels, after his tragic accident on Highland Road.

From a pure athletic standpoint, Mickey Joseph is probably tops. Or OBJ.

If you’re looking for a bigger man just because big athletic guys beat little athletic guys, Jaren Jackson, Perry McDonald or Greg Monroe all come to mind. And all went to Georgetown under John Thompson, ugh.

And of course if you don’t have a problem being non-PC the best answer is Gill Fenerty even though he didn’t vote for Biden.

The best ever was Steve Van Buren.

But for all-around athlete, nobody was close to Mike Miley.

Livingston wouldn’t be my choice simply because the term “ athlete” is being used. Was great player no doubt but his mind was more his strength than raw athletic ability. Chad Jones to me is the easy answer. To play professionally in two sports was easily attainable for him. That is the answer

I have to recant all of my statements because I read this as best athlete, not best LSU athlete.

What was the story? Didn't Curley offer him a scholarship as a safety?
