Doesn’t have to be football

Fournette and Honey Badger are the two that come to mind but who else are there?

OBJ is probably a better athlete than Fournette

Mathieu has to be the answer, instinct, and will, only defensive player iv ever seen that single handedly changed the tides of games from the defensive side. I can only dream of what he could have done his junior year. He was robbed his sophomore year, he was the best defensive player iv ever seen.

Best "athlete" of my time has to be fournette though. He was a damn MLB running around 130lbs at 4.4 speed punishing guys.

Its amazing Chad isn't a "no brainer". I only included OBJ due to his soccer and track and field background

Steve Van Buren and it’s not even close

In 1943, he was 1st team All-SEC, 3rd team All-American, and led the NCAA in scoring ... all accomplished during his first year ever playing tailback. His final college game was the 1944 Orange Bowl vs. Texas A&M. Despite A&M coach Homer Norton devising a game-plan specifically to stop him, Van Buren was responsible for all of LSU’s points, as he ran for two touchdowns, threw for one more, and kicked LSU's only successful extra point attempt in the 19–14 victory.

2× NFL champion (1948, 1949)
6× First-team All-Pro (1944–1949)
Second-team All-Pro (1950)
4× NFL rushing yards leader (1945, 1947–1949)
4× NFL rushing touchdowns leader (1945, 1947–1949)
NFL 1940s All-Decade Team
NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team
NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team
Philadelphia Eagles No. 15 retired
NFL HOF 1965
