Please tell me when Aranda was bad. He always had the answer for running QBs. In fact, Saban and Pruitt modeled their personnel after what Aranda was doing to better defend dual threat QBs.

Baker is going to get P4 head coaching looks after this season. I bet USCe fires Beamer and could see that as a fit - could retain Briles.

Too early for a P4. He is young and I don't think he has shown much that he is a HC type especially a P4. Now an FCS school next year maybe so. No P4 school is going to give him the keys to a program without him showing what he can do as a HC.

USCe, who has ever had much success there? Legendary coaches have done very average and couldn't get the players. Even in the NIL era I don't think you will get enough top players there.

FCS? Man, no coordinator at an SEC school gets an FCS job for their first HC job. Nothing less than Group of 5 or 6.

Baylor is still trying to recover from prior coaching "mishaps".

Great, another Lsu re-tread on the market. Put him, O, and Pelini on the land of misfit toys.

Tough pill to swallow. Baylor is 2 pts away from being 6-1.

My son is a Baylor grad. He just texted me:

“Baylor with a close loss!
Another close loss!
Wow that one was close!
Baylor almost clutching the win!
Man they almost had it!

… for years”

95% chance he’s a DC at a big name SEC school next year.

For what it's worth, Baylor's defenses have not been that great during his tenure.. then the years he did have solid defense, his offense was not great.

Traylor is the best hire Baylor can ask for, Texas guy that can build a program. Baylor does have decent amount of wealthy donors that could pony up for NIL, but most just really don't care all that much about athletics.

I could see Aranda giving the NFL a shot as a defensive coordinator. I think he would fit well there.
