I don't know. Baylor started 4-1, and lost to Auburn by an inch. They just lost two more tight games. The timing of this is kind of surprising to me.

They have a relatively tough schedule to end the season, so I guess Baylor didn't want to give him any upset opportunities to save himself.

Come on down to Kiffin's coaching rehab for a while.

I’d like to see him on the staff in some capacity.

LOL. It is more than just this year. Baylor wasn't going anywhere under him, and it isn't like they play a tough schedule. Auburn may have been their best team they faced.

Would be worth a look if Baker leaves for a HC position after this season

If nothing else we would have great LB play. Retaining Raymond is a must no matter what.

Hopefully Baker returns and we aren't searching anyway

Love Aranda and would like to see this but Kiffin's brother is dc in waiting.

Coaching changes always raise the question of whether the problem was the head coach, the roster, or the overall direction of the program. Baylor has some important decisions ahead, and the next hire will matter a lot.

Eeeek…. I remember wanting Aranda as HC after O. …. Good thing they didn’t listen to me.

That’s not as bad as some knuckleheads in here that wanted lsu to hire kelvin sheppard after Kelly was fired . That would have been an utter disaster

I’ve been telling him on the secret board to open it for nearly 4 months. It falls on deaf ears.

He’s not a head coach. Good DC though.

I think he was a good DC. But in this new era of the transfer portal and having so much new personnel every year, it’s tough for guys like him.
His scheme is complicated, and takes a couple year for guys to learn and flourish in.
I think he was a great DC in a bygone era. Love aranda for what he did here at LSU, but I’m not sure we should be considering him for DC if baker leaves.

LSU could do the funniest thing…..

Actually bringing him back as a consultant shadow DC makes a lot of sense. Maybe he could teach Blake Baker how not to shite the bed on crucial close game drives.

Their next hire won't matter because they don't have the money to compete in NIL. Their basketball program has taken huge steps back because they aren't able to play the NIL game. They are a small Baptist school that doesn't have a ton of alumni who are wealthy donors.

Good for him, though.

He did great as a DC. Then got a great salary as a head coach and can do what he wants again.

Baylor got duped into taking Lagway

He plays with no heart or love for his team. Taking the money and running.

Perhaps. But he'll also be on the receiving end of a >$12 million buy out. He's done well for himself.
