I think he’ll be an NFL player. With the way they draft now I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s a high pick and starter either. I agree with you that he’s probably overrated as an NFL level passing prospect but he did make some good throws in week 1 albeit vs Louisville. What he did Saturday wasn’t impressive from a throwing aspect. He took easy layups we gave him and was patient which is the sign of a good, veteran college QB but he only made 1 or 2 above average throws all night because we didn’t force him to make quality throws.

I said it and I heard it said now dozen times that Chambliss first half was one of best QB half’s ever seen in college ever.

False. They were heavily defending parts of the field that didn’t need to be defended. Ole Miss didn’t have any timeouts.

Trinidad is not a running QB. Baker failed his first test. This week he gets to try and stop a true DTQB.

Evidently NFL scouts don't feel the same way.
At the end of last season he was out of eligibility. Also, the QB draft prospect class was viewed as really weak. Basically, it was Mendoza and no other consensus first round QB. The second QB taken in the draft was Simpson, and MANY thought that was huge reach. Most would say Chambliss outperformed Simpson last season. Especially in the CFP.
So in what looked like a VERY favorable market for QBs, why did he choose to take legal action to obtain a 6th year of college eligibility rather than go through the draft? The only logical explanation is that NFL teams don't see him as a great pro-prospect.

Great idea... just let em throw 13 yard completions and step out of bounds
