1st half defensive play calls were not good. 2nd Quarter ended up being too much to overcome. If they don't do that moving forward then its a good takeaway. But don't be fooled that lost you the game.

Not only did it put us in a big hole, it gassed our defense, especially our edge guys. Princewell and Ross had zero get off late in the game because they’d been on the field for too long and for too many long stretches at a time.

and then he went back to the "stay off the wr by 40 yards" defense on the last drive so OM could score. He sucks.

he deserves some criticism. I still think about Jalen Milroe running wild in the 2024 Alabama game after having a week off to prepare right after Marcel Reed ran all over us in the second half of the A&M game. Baker is certainly a good DC but not great.

The thing that gets me is this idea that Chambliss was Burrow like in the passing game on Saturday night when I only saw him make one or two stick throws the entire game. 95% of his completions were uncontested, 5 yard throws almost any college QB could make. Not taking anything away from his recognition and patience to take what was given but the large difference in efficiency vs what we saw most of the night and how he performed vs man coverage and pressure was night and day. I don’t see how Baker is getting a pass especially when this is a known problem for him going on 3 years now.

You can't honestly think that is true. If you do, you need to learn more about football. He is a Division 1 defensive coordinator. The defense was beaten by a outstanding performance of a great quarterback and great wide receiver that were in sync Saturday night. A Burrow/Chase like performance. LSU did play soft, as planned, but Chambliss won the big players with two and sometimes three defenders on the receiver. What are your credentials...Sunday morning defensive coordinators a a dime a dozen.

I think he played soft coverage because he didn’t want to give up the big play which has been Ole Miss’ MO through the 1st 2 weeks. Should he have dialed up some better pressures? Maybe. But I think the best player in the country just made plays. Chambliss is better than Leavitt it’s as simple as that. Maybe we get another shot at them and he plays it differently.

This is true. Run D was pretty good, but they did lose Lacy. The DL didn't win on the pass rush like OM's DL won.

Sam Leavitt lost this game way more than the defense. If he hits the dozens of open receivers all game he missed the defense gets to rest more and we score 14+ more on offense.

Typical ignorance, they look at the box score and just make up what happened. There were no downfield throws outside of the TD where our safety left a gaping hole getting himself out of position. Almost anytime we brought pressure he was wildly inaccurate. He threw 3-4 intercept able balls we missed by a matter of inches because the tip didn’t go our way. And this is 2+ years of Baker struggling in these situations but since the Rant loves to push the backup QB nonsense we’re supposed to ignore everything for the sake of their narrative. It’s retarded

You must have missed those early possessions where we had 2-3 guys in the backfield immediately vs both run and pass. We couldn’t block either but somehow that’s on the QB.
