Your numbers don’t add up to 200m.

People need to check out Memphis to see what a nice minor league park is.

The frick does this have to do with LSU or SEC fan base???

It shows LSU fans (many whom were Zephyr fans) show up for the baseball product, not the amenities.

When the baseball product when to shite, fans didn't show up to swim in the pool or hang out on the berm.

I’d like to see a concentrated student section but for some reason not many students go.

There’s a reason for that. The Box atmosphere is not fun for a student. I went to a lot of games, but I’m a huge LSU baseball fan. They are never going to get the casual student to go consistently with the current atmosphere. If you’re a regular student why would you go to a game and pay $10 per beer and sit in metal bleachers for 4+ hours when you can go to Tigerland and pay a $10 cover and get free drinks for 2 straight hours while watching the game?

Now look at other SEC schools that have great student attendance and tell me what the differences are.

Baseball production has some to do with it no doubt. But also Alex Box isn't a fun place to go unless you are a big fan of baseball. The fact is the average fan isn't wanting to spend 25$ on 3 beers, eat the horrible food, and sit in shitty bleachers. You bring comfort and better amenities then people are thinking hey a evening drinking beer, and watching baseball at Alex Box doesn't sound like a bad evening.

The idea of a berm is hey people bring in their own food, drinks, and pay like 5-10$ to get in. You get to sit with friends and enjoy a game.

ETA: I don't care if we have a berm or not. We just need an area were people can bring in there own stuff, and sit wherever they want and with whoever they want.

That’s part of it. For dinner and a few beers you’re looking at $40+ dollars. Add in uncomfortable bleachers with assigned seating and ushers that don’t want you to stand up and yell and that’s not a fun or financially feasible night for a college student. There’s a lot of differences between LSU and Ole Miss/Miss St/Arkansas/etc when it comes to student sections.

Honestly student sections are an entirely different animal than the stadium as a whole.

Even at Tiger Stadium thd student attendance ebbs and flows. Lately it’s been good, but prior to that it was down done.

If it’s not trendy to go many students won’t go.

I agree. My whole post was about the student section.

It becomes trendy because it’s fun.

the problem is money. at a$m woody would ask for 1 mm and they’d provide 5 mm. he could do any upgrades he wanted. Here, not so much. Too political

Understood, but what comes first?

And it’s one thing for students to turn out at TS or the PMAC, but the Box’s location isn’t student friendly. The old Box was.

No. What I’m saying is LSU has had much bigger fish to fry than bleachers
The fact that they had bigger fish to fry doesn’t make the bleachers or the experience any less shitty. It seems you may have stumbled into the wrong thread.

Get rid of all the cheap looking outfield wall advertisements. Just plain trash looking; this isn’t a kids recreation park. Solid purple wall with gold topping.

We should have either had that Zephers CF grass to lay on or something similar to Ole Misses LF (forget what they call it). I woulda been happy with everything else.

You want the ads gone because of the look but want the wall to be purple?

The location isn’t the reason student attendance is lacking. It’s right down the street from the old box and probably closer to where most students live now.

Then I’m wrong. I was thinking students living in campus would be more likely to go to a baseball game than students off campus.

You have to make the students want to come. If you want more students at games, be more proactive about it.

I understand what you’re getting at but if you are going to commit 4 hours to a game, I don’t think an extra 5 minutes on the walk or drive is going to be a dealbreaker.
