You’re not wrong. But we can’t go back to that either. You can’t put your head in the sand and ignore reality and expect people to just show. Kids aren’t that way. Fans aren’t that way. ESPN, flat screens with 6 camera angles and high def, outdoor kitchens, etc. People want comfort and experience. You want a full, loud stadium? You have to get the recruits and take care of their experience (we do this) and you have to get the fans and take care of theirs (we are lacking). That’s the reality of. I’m sorry it’s not 1993 anymore.
The full loud stadiums come as a result of the elite talent and elite teams competing.
Players come of reasons but they don’t include arm chair seats, hi definition TVs at concession stands or a canopy over the grandstands.
Now in the best of both worlds you could do all of that; however, choices have to be made. I think a state of the art batting cage is a must. A great locker room. A great training room. All these things are more important than a lot of the amenities fans want.
I sat out in the Sun and watched LSU play. They had championship teams. And yes I moved when I could, but improving things for me as a fan haven’t helped us win games. We’ve regressed.

Same. I went by there during a football tailgating day. It's nothing special, but has a very clean/kept up look. Nice, but nothing extravagant and nothing to wow you.
That’s the thing, it’s nice and they are still upgrading. There’s not a ton at Alex Box that can wow you besides the number of ads and how hot the bleachers get.

Only LSU fans could complain about playing baseball in the most reverent place in college baseball... The Box.

The 2017 team went to the championship series but the only time the stadium was packed was when we hosted State in the super. It’s just a fact that the fan experience is competing with home comforts. Simply being good isn’t good enough anymore. You have to except that.

Since when have the powers-that-be in the LSU AD given a hoot about the comfort of the fans?

What year is it?

While this is true, full loud stadiums also come as a result of a nice, fun atmosphere. Miss St. was awful this year and they still had packed stadiums throughout the year.

LSU already has all of this.

Well it’s not the 90’s anymore. So because stadium improvements haven’t resulted in a dynasty we should just quit trying to improve Alex Box?

You think I was claiming they did?
But I will say the new purple seatbacks are comfy

Lets quit beating around the bush.......we have one of the worst baseball stadiums in the SEC.....bottom tier

This bothers me the most out of everything besides maybe the bullpens. It just looks like a giant trash bag in Centerfield.

You weren’t competing with TVs in the living room back then. You had a handful of baseball games on tv per year back then so if you wanted to watch LSU baseball you didn’t have a choice but to sit in the sun on uncomfortable bleachers with shitty concessions.
Fans have choices now. What once cut it no longer will.

You’re lying to yourself if you think the new box was anything like what was promised.

not saying the mystique is the same and don't know or care what was promised. promised to who by whom ?
It's where the Tigers play baseball and it's not going to change. whining every time someone else does something to their ballpark isn't going to change it.
I bet no one cares when the team is winning 50 games a year again. amazing how that works

Are they currently deeper or more shallow than what's indicated on the wall? I swear our power alley's are the deepest in the SEC.

Are you telling me that schools don’t upgrade their stadiums and facilities to improve their chances of getting recruits?
Practice facilities, locker rooms etc, yes. Stadiums, no. The players don’t attend games. They don’t care about luxury suites and concession food.

I agree with you on this. Fans can watch at home now.
So what do you do? Spend millions to make stadium improvements to compete against TV who pays you to broadcast your games to get more fans who in all likelihood won’t come back after the newness of the improvements have worn off. Or spend millions to improve things the players use and benefit.
Now you can try and do both, but I suggest that the days of a loud and rowdy Box have passed for the most part and fans are not going to return fir the long haul and pay for the improvements made unless you are talking clubs and suites.
