I think it is clear the new president had no prior knowledge of the Drake Davis issue with Ausberry when he “removed” the interim tag. Now he knows and wants to backtrack or hedge.

The truth is - nothing is permanent in the SEC. That word is highly dependent on winning. Run the table and you get to see a paycheck in January.

Fire Wade, Fire Verge. Dalton seems to know how to keep his mother shut and isn’t from here. Elevate him to President and let him put search parameters in place and announce adults are now in charge.

Not true at all. For one instance, check the SEC Rant.

This is the crux of 90% of the crying on this board.

The SEC rant is mocking LSU and posters here can’t handle being trolled.

As a man born and raised in Baton Rouge until the age of 11, I can confidently say this is what happens when you get a bunch of egotistical coonasses in power. There’s no effective communist, nobody is listening, and nobody is thinking of public perception beyond their deer stand.

It’s why so many of us left Louisiana and will never go back. Nobody should be surprised. I love LSU as much as anyone on this board and I long for the days of BR in the 1980s as a kid, but that’s not the city it is anymore and as an adult, I’ve become aware of the depths of corruption around every level of government within the state.

The whole thing is just really sad. I pray that things get better there but I don’t see it happening. Generation after generation of politicians just continue to choose their cronies and line their pockets, while crapping all over the taxpayers.

End of rant. Geaux Tigers

It’s very clear to me that Rousse is not ready for prime time

And why is he overseeing athletics in Baton Rouge campus?
Why not Dalton?

Then he also said Saban wasnt coming, and suddenly picked up an "acting" tag instead of permanent

So within 24 hours of becoming president, he's already become a public embarrassment!

The next few years should be splendid!

The dysfunctional entity we call "LSU" needs behave like adults at some point and move on.

They had to remove the interim tag so that he has the best chance to land a coach.

There’s no way that you can expect a new president to go find a new athletic director and a head coach at the same time

only an alter would say this.

Nice little example of Louisiana's longstanding inept leadership

If Landry had just stayed in his lane and let the school handle this. Nothing ever ends well when Louisiana politicians stick their grubby fingers in.

Verge leaked the removal to the media to (try to) force Rousse’s hand. Rousse didn’t want Verge. Doesn’t trust him. Board members leveraged votes to remove interim title. Agreement was no contract or raise. Just remove title.

This would answer why the executive session that was supposed to last 10-30 minutes took almost 2 hours. Especially considering that per their own words, Rousse and Dalton had worked out an agreement to split the President/Chancellor roles last week, so the disagreement wasn't that.

I got the impression from interviews that Dalton is content to not be president as he doesn't want to deal with the politics, and wants little to do with athletics.

Well he needs to step his game up, Rousse and Verge failed miserably their first day on the job.
