I don't see how Daniels coming back is BAD for the team. I'm all for it. But I also don't think he should be (and won't be) handed the job.

I am ok with everyone competing. Let the guy who gives us the best chance to win, run 1st team.

I support all four quarterbacks. They must learn to compete and may the best man win the job. It is also true that a starter is always one play away from injury.

After 17 years on this site, and another 17+ of being an LSU fan, you’d think I wouldn’t be surprised that this isn’t the default position of 100% of LSU fans and it wouldn’t bother me so. Yet here I am.

Or is it an auto-start for Daniels no matter what?

News flash: the coaching staff makes that decision, not "Daniels supporters". And it possible to support every QB on the roster instead of divisively drawing lines in the sand pitting one QB against another, you should try it.

Wait there are people who aren’t Daniels supporters? Weird choice of words

Edit: yes, technically, we are all “Daniels supporters” because we are all LSU fans. I’m referring to ranters that are all-in on Daniels no matter what

What does "auto start no matter what" entail? Are you suggesting that JD would be named the starter despite BK not thinking he's the best guy for the job?

You think ranters have any say or influence on who starts?

Some of you think that if JD wins the job it wasn't a fair competition. Only the outcome you desire means the decision was made on the up and up.

LOL. I am an LSU supporter. I want the best QB to play and will defer to the coaches for that. As far as I'm concerned it's JD's job to lose but yes he can lose it if either out perform him. That may not happen until we get into the 2023 season. Or it may not happen at all. Either JD will step up to the challenge or someone else will. It's really that simple.

Haven’t seen many if any of those.

It’s because they don’t exist. They are made up straw men created by low IQ dumbasses who have somehow convinced themselves that 60-year-old Massachusetts-born Brian Kelly, having known 21-year-old, California-born Jayden Daniels for less than 6 months, developed some sort of weird crush on him that blinded him to the fact obvious to the other coaches, the team (especially the WRs), and all fans like themselves that he was clearly the inferior QB—or rather not a QB at all—yet played him all year for…reasons And now that crush has turned into a lifelong loyalty that Kelly will use to start him again next year without any competition, in spite of the obviously superior evaluation skills of the other coaches, WRs, and most importantly, themselves, to the existential detriment of the entire LSU football program.

That is the narrative they have to pretzel their tiny brains into creating rather than admit they are simply wrong. Or dumb as frick cocksucking racists. Likely both.

If it was as close as BK said it was between Nussmeier and JD, he should have tried that this year and you'd have your guy no matter what.

It's both. If you don't recall this is the same exact narrative they used for Les/Jefferson, with some geniuses around here even alluding to this.

CBK will start the QB he is convinced that will win Games period. Walker is our future and will have 2 full years to prove it, if he doesn’t beat out JD n 23. It’s not hard to see that or is it.

Oh, I know. And I recall, most unfondly. I’ve been fighting this same fight for years, for Daniels, Jefferson, and Jamarcus. And not because I didn’t like the other QBs—I love Nuss—I wanted him, perhaps wrongly in hindsight, to start over Max all last year. I liked Jarrett Lee. Loved Matt Flynn. And I hate myself for getting pulled into these stupid fricking toxic arguments where I’m forced to argue against one player in support of another. Because I hate LSU fans being so vile and hateful towards LSU players period. Especially good ones.

But what I hate more is the retarded racists perpetuating the stereotype that Louisianans are a bunch of retarded racists.

What does “try that” mean? Throw a QB in there that he has evaluated through hundreds of hours of practice reps as not the better option just to see? I’m 100% convinced Brian Kelly is prepared to try anything he deems as giving LSU the best chance to win football games. The fact Nuss played as little as he did should be very telling.

Did you not watch Kelly at Notre Dame? He’d yank QBs all damn day long like he was 1990s Steve Spurrier, desperately searching for a Danny Weurfel. But he’s not going to do it recklessly to the detriment of the team. Just like if Nuss or Howard make a jump in development and prove themselves better than Daniels going into next year, he’s not going to continue to start Jayden to the detriment of the team. But have you not heard him use the word “intentional” a thousand times by now? He’s going to continue to make intentional decisions that he believes will help LSU win games, not just try shite all willy nilly just to see.
