First thing Fowler says. "Do not want to score too quickly." He's right.
Harris was not open initially. He got open late with a push off at the 2-yard line. It happened quickly. It would have been a difficult transition/throw
Brown completely whiffed on Kite. If Brown gets any body on Kite, LSU is inside the 3-yard line. An ideal result for that play.
LSU's false start on the next play hurt more.

This was his third game as a LK coached LSU QB in his FOURTH YEAR in a major college program. He should have at least a small semblance of awareness. He had 3 qtrs against an OM defense and did not progress even a tiny bit. CLK better have his young backup QB ready in every big game from here on in because I don’t think Sam is near ready for SEC defenses that have plenty of film on him. But that’s just MHO!

There were open wide receivers all over the field Saturday night. I was screaming at the TV, meanwhile Sam is running around like a chicken with his head cut off, holding the ball with one hand like a sack of potatoes.

Leavitt cost us this game. Call it what it is. Guy was a failure under the spotlight. A dominating running game bailed him out in Game 1. Plus our d went against a freshman 1st time starter.
He will be at double digit turnovers after Game 5, at this rate.

Remember, we're playing for the tie and overtime, not for the win at that point. We need a TD, a 2 pt conversion, and then a stop.
You want that stop to be around 20-30 seconds at the most, because Chambliss is red hot and they have a great kicker. You want them to burn that timeout before we score, so they don't have it when we kick off.
Being tied (say we score there and get the 2), and Ole Miss has 1:45 and a timeout, we're fricked anyway. You avoid that by running the clock down.

Cannot speak definitively to this play and hindsight is 20:20, but QBs are expected to anticipate how a play is developing.

That's nice & all except for the fact the QB is supposed to know every route his receivers are running in every play & where the openings in the secondary will be based off presnap reads. If Leavitt had the mental grasp of the playbook & how to read coverages properly , he would have been able to anticipate Harris flashing open when he did. This is the point everyone making an excuse of Leavitt is overlooking.

Seems like it's an easy read. Should be either the 1st or second read on the play especially since he's rolling to the sideline and the WR is running with him.

Thank you. Lincoln Kienholz the Louisville QB spent his first 3 seasons at Ohio St with a total of 0 starts prior to this season. That dude shredded the same Ole Miss defense that Leavitt struggled against.
