The scary part is that quite often he's not even looking at his first read, much less his second, before he takes off to run.
Had numerous plays where he was running with open receivers and a clean pocket. That's no bueno.

Sure, giving them that much time on the clock is not ideal but in no way does he hike the ball and think "I DONT WANT TO SCORE HERE!!"

Jayden was same his first year as lsu.he had to learn to trust coaches and teammates.
He had worse coaches but better receivers
He was a better qb his second year rushed 50 less times and improved as a passer with about 1000 more yards passing and oddly about the same amount rushing

So both of you guys are saying you've never, ever ever seen teams run a couple plays to burn clock on the final possession? I call bullshite on that
Everyone and their mother were screaming that we needed to milk the clock down, get the score and 2 pt conversion under 30 seconds, if we wanted to get to OT. That was the ONLY option. We didn't have enough TOs to score quick and try to hold them to get another possession, in the event we scored but didnt get the 2. And we weren't holding them anyway, Chambliss was crazy good at that point.

I think there's something to the theory that our G play is weak and with sam being on the smaller side, that interior rush is really hurting his vision. May have also developed a lot of bad habits having to play street ball to make things happen instead of letting the offense flow. The blocking was there on the missed TD early in the game, slight rush but if he steps up in the pocket instead of panicking, he hits brown for 6.

It's not just a Leavitt problem. You see it across college football with the majority of QBs who have the ability to gain yardage with their legs. They tend to trust their legs over their brain. It becomes a challenge for coaches to break them out of their bad habits because they constantly miss potential chunk yardage in the passing game. Everyone gets infatuated nowadays with running QBs but with running aspect comes a major deficiency in the passing game until you can coach the flaws out of them. Sometimes that's simply an impossible task to do.
