Joe burrow didnt start till his 4th year in college and had to transfer because he wasn't good enough to start at OSU. That guy clearly wasnt the answer because he didnt start as a freshman or sophomore and he never got better in this era where you have to be great your first year as a QB.

I think he is talking about 2021 and going forward. He’s letting high school QBs know that LSU is looking for the next headman and #1 overall pick in future years.

Nah I admitted I was off about CEH. But that was as much the OL as it was him. Totally different back going into the Florida game then what he was the first 5 games. Don’t say I don’t admit when I am wrong just cause you happen to miss it.

However, I do believe that the job is his to lose. My God, he can't be any more prepared. If he doesn't step up right out of the gate, then he clearly doesn't have what it takes.

Really? Our grad transfer, Urban trained QB that just put up the best season in CFB history had 6 TDs vs 4 INTs and barely above 50% completions through his first 9 games at LSU.

I expected Brennan to be Myles better than that, but there will still be growing pains.

Insensitive? Stop being a snowflake dude. Whatever orgeron believes we need to do is what I'm all for. If it doesn't include Brennan as qb, then so be it nfrok everything that's happened and what I've heard though, it seems that Brennan is ready to go and lead this team next season. I don't think O meant it like you're thinking. He's obviously behind Brennan starting and has told Brennan he will have every opportunity to start or he would have transfered by now. This is Brennan's team and he will be just fine. Geaux tigers

He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, the pressure had him rattled, it's all part of the game and how you handle it.

That comment is not for or against Brennan. It is up to Brennan to be the QB that he is talking about. That's why you go to spring practice and compete. Just like 2 yrs ago when Burrow showed up and guys quit. Some people think that O is just supposed to hand the job over to Myles Brennan without competition. He has to earn it regardless of how long he has waited. Next man up hopefully it's him. It's the same for every position.

The reason I made that statement is first and foremost he's great because of his football IQ, decision making, how to maneuver the pocket, accuracy, knowing when to throw it hard into tight windows and when to throw it feather soft and lastly his running ability. Running ability obviously adds an extra dimension to your game but without all the aforementioned attributes for a QB, running ability doesn't mean shite and you won't be an average QB much less a great QB. Joe's running ability obviously adds to his repertoire but it is not his best attribute and is not what makes him great ( it obviously aids in it) but it's the other attributes I listed that does.

So Burrow getting off the plane, learning his team mates names (and the play book) on the fly, and not having a spring camp equates to MB being on capmus for three springs and two seasons equates how?

Thos a prime example of apples and oranges.

Talk about a false equivalency.

I’m just talking about this year in the new offense

He averaged 24.5 rushing ypg this season. He actually had more yards last year.
2018–399 (30.6 ypg)
2019–368 (24.5 ypg)

I agree that he was at a big disadvantage and I've stated as much many times. We are also talking about him still going 4 games without a TD in the middle 1/3 of the season.

There are always factors that can explain that from a less than outstanding scheme to OL issues. Like I said, I expect Brennan, should he win the job, will look significantly better than Burrow did his 1st year starting for LSU.

I hope Brennan saw how Burrow used his legs just enough to make the defense change the way they play defense.
I hope Brennan saw how Burrow focused on his goal and worked his tail off for an entire year to accomplish it.

They subtract sack yardage from rushing totals in college. He was sacked for something like -211 yards. His actual rushing total was 560 or so

Let's be honest here. What has Breenan done? Exactly. Nothing. What has Burrow done? EVERYTHING! I don't think it's so much a knock on Brennan as much as it is a statement about the realism of BIG time college football. You get a chance to grab a 4th or 5th year graduate that has played a lot of quality football at the highest level you take him. King from Houston is a great example. I guarantee that if he decided to come to LSU that CEO would welcome him w open arms. Saban would probably do the same. It is what it is. Breenan (unfortunately) has to deal with it b/c QB is the most important position on a football team. What would be cool is if Brennan beat out King (should he end up at LSU).

Yes.
Yes you are. His statement had nothing to do with Brennan. He is looking for Brennan's replacement.

You know nothing about Myles Brennan. Have you ever been to practice? Myles played behind 5 year 23 year old QB that was not even in school. Myles will be 1rst round draft choice. Just ask Chase, Marshall and Racy about Myles.
