There are oher qb’s also thathear this. They are all on notice that someone needs to step up. Just talking a out brennan would not have made the other qb’s feel like there would even be a competition. I thought the comment was perfect

I don’t think that was how he meant it. He is just making a point how good Burrow was. He can’t exactly say he has a QB as good as Burrow. Nobody would buy it .

This x1000. I'm afraid the guy just isn't as good as most if you think he is

Because he's not talking about 2020

If he said “to replace Joe Burrow” then he absolutely was talking about 2020. And yes, OP, l interpret it as shade on Brennan too. I don’t think O intentionally meant it that way, but that’s how it comes across.

O was trying to talk directly to Caleb. He’s the #1 QB prospect for next year and he’s from D.C. O knew he was in Caleb’s neck of the woods and isn’t allowed to say his name.

Doesn’t fit the prototype of a CFB playoff QB

Why? What is this "prototype" you speak of?

Was recruited under a different coach

So what? Is coach O not going to let anybody recruited by someone else play?

Brennan has not looked good in the in-game opportunities he has been presented with

Which opportunities exactly are you talking about where he didn't look good?

LSU fans have been trying like hell to talk themselves into Brennan being really good for years. I don’t think O is sold on Brennan either.

HE IS RECRUITING!! That being said, Brennan is very capable but has much to prove. He has a rocket arm and is very accurate but the intangibles are the key. Certainly no freshman is going to be better than him.

What are your qualifications that we should value your opinion above Orgeron, Brady, and Ensminger's.
Orgeron has a record. When he needs a coach, he finds one. When he needs a QB, he finds one.
What makes you doubt him?

You are correct, you don't think.
Orgeron has repeated many times, Brennan is ready and will be given the opportunity to lead the team next season.
Until Orgeron starts bringing in QBs from the transfer portal, I believe Brennan is his QB.
