You have to go with pods so LSU can play some of the SEC East teams. Going to divisions means LSU would rarely play Tennessee, UGA, UF, Auburn etc.. Those are your charter members LSU must play often imo

Definitely would rather pods. I hate that we don't play the East teams but once every 6 years. I love that the pods allow a 4 year student athlete to play every team in the league twice, and at every venue in the league. Our fans travel too, and we like to go to every venue as well.

Changing to pods doesn’t allow you to play every team twice in four seasons. Adding a ninth game does if you stay with 14 teams or if you go to pods, go to just three permanent opponents and add the ninth game.

No. I think Texas and Oklahoma should stay where they are currently.

Geographically it would be Auburn and Alabama moving east, with Mizzou, OU and Texas going to the west in that scenario. Conference would be split right down the Miss/Alabama state line.

PODs or No divisions are the only options

Missouri moving west is a given in a 2 division format. They are one of the Westernmost schools but play in the East currently.

Why not do 4 pods with two being members of the SEC West and two being members of the SEC East? Still have divisions.

Have the pods but don't call them pods.

No we should have a committee that decides who plays in the SEC champ game and they should meet in B'ham to discuss.

The more I think and read about adding OU and TX, the more I do NOT want them, especially Texas.

I like this article ...

Look at it like this. Which state do Louisiana folks mingle with the most? It’s gotta be Texas. Followed by Mississippi, then maybe Arkansas, Oklahoma is up there.

you would also move Missouri to the West - they should have been in the west to begin with, but were moved east to even out A&M joining the west.

No ! The four divisions make so much more sense when you get to play every teams in the conference every two years.
Please ! Divisions, not “pods”. :-)

No, I want pods so we can play everyone in the conference every three years.
4 pods of 4 teams
3 games against others in pod each year.
1 game against an opponent every year if you both want it.
4 or 5 rotating games.
That gives you every other team in the league every 3 years even if you don't increase to 9 conference games.
I would prefer the 5 game rotation personally.
If the SEC went to 9 games (6 game rotation), then you would see every team home and away every 4 years. That would be sweet.

With divisions, LSU will be the top dog in the SEC West every year. With Pods, LSU will be just another member of a Pod. Plus there is no way to have an SEC Championship.

I much prefer to win the SEC West every year than I care about playing every team in the SEC every couple of years.

Jesus Christ you are just posting the same thing over and over and over again. We get it you want the easiest path possible for LSU. That’s understandable if a bit misguided.

Some of us would like to still play football in something that resembles the SEC. I don’t want to play in the old SWC. I want to play Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. The more often I get to turn my TV on and watch LSU kick the shite out of one of those teams the happier I’ll be.

Sure it’ll be fun to play Texas and Oklahoma on a regular basis but I will never enjoy beating them quite as much as beating Auburn at Jordan Hare.

It won’t come close to the feeling of beating Florida in 07.

Or bama in 19 and 11.

Or Georgia in 18.

Those are the games this conference has been built around for 90 fricking years. I don’t want that to go away so how about you try see the forest instead of the trees and stop trying to dismantle the very thing that’s made this conference the greatest in college athletics.

We’ve played Alabama 85 times. Arkansas 66 times. State 114 times. Ole Miss 109 times. A&M 58 times. Auburn 55 times and Florida 67 times. So with all that said, retaining Arkansas, A&M and the MS schools is still good for us. Replacing Alabama and Florida with Texas and OU as permanent Rivals is not as big of a deal as replacing Auburn with Missouri is.

We gave history with Texas. We played OU for a national title and in the CFP. Those games won’t feel as weird as Missouri. We played Missouri in 1978 in the liberty bowl. In 2016 and again in 2020. That’s it.
None of those games had any implications. They were just casual exhibition games. Do our fans interact with Missouri fans? Do we recruit that part of the country? We have everything to lose and nothing to gain from picking up a Missouri series.

Other than that, we’re in good shape IF they do 8 team divisions with the newbies and Missouri in the new west.
