Not saying there aren't some question marks in regards to accuracy, but Burrow only completed 57% of his passes in his first year at LSU.
Leavitt also threw 24 TDs to 6 picks in his sophomore season. That's strong. And though he was hurt, he threw 10 TDs to 3 picks last year. So he has had good numbers overall to go with the strong rushing stats. JD completed 65% of his passes in his junior year at AZ St., but he surprisingly had 10 TDs to 10 picks that year too. So sometimes it's hard to predict how things will go.

All these snide little comments about Leavitt, about whether Kiffin deserves credit for Chambliss etc, that's just someone taking shots at Kiffin and LSU.
And it's off target, anyway.
I've been watching LSU a long time. We've had 3 great QBs since Hodson; Russell, Burrow, and Daniels. Most of the time our guy isn't even at the talent level that Leavitt is. Yet, we've played for 4 national titles in that timeframe, and only once with an elite QB. We're going to be ok.

Slightly worse than Diego Pavia as a college QB? I’ll take it.
Our supporting cast is much better than what Pavia had at Vandy.

What does he average 60 to 61 % passing?
His best year throwing was when he had Cam Skattebo.
So what the coach is saying isn't that far off.
He isn't saying he is a bad QB.
He is just saying he is an upper tier QB but not what LSU is used to.

It's not unreasonable to opine he's not at the level of Burrow or Daniels when they were at their best at LSU. Now, if the opinion is he's not as good as guys like Nussmier, Johnson, Etling, etc, then that is a different discussion.
Pavia also created a lot of issues with his off-script play making ability. I mean Vandy went 10-2 last season. That doesn't happen without Pavia.
Some (many) fans see ANY opinion that isn't expressly glowing about LSU and reflexive bristle with anger without actually evaluating that the statement might be somewhat reasonable.

Kid was considered one of the top prospects at the QB spot before his injury, yet he's not that talented, sure.

Burrow was mediocre in 2018 and then flourished, but when LSU got him, he was not some amazing prospect.
