Hard to say with it being anonymous, but I’d assume he’s just speaking on his personal experience being a DC against LSU.

Is this for real or is this guy butthurt over something? I know Sam may not be Jaylen or Joe, but the fact that Lane thinks he's pretty good probably means he's pretty good. If Pavia is that good, why doesn't the NFL think so? I'm not sure this SEC coach's opinions line up with reality. He sounds like a Vandy coach.

Of course. But it is not unreasonable to suggest a guy is not at the level of best player in the country like Burrow and Daniels were at their peak when he (Leavitt) has never been that.
Personally, I think Leavitt will be good because EVERY starting QB under Lane has been good. Now, I think that is probably more in line with Jaxson Dart good rather than 2019 Burrow or 2023 Daniels good, but still good.
If we are being honest, Leavitt did play a SEC team last season. One of the worst in the league. And he wasn't good. 10/22, 82 yards, 2 INTs.
It's ok to take an optimistic but wait and see approach.

LSU hasn't produced many great quarterbacks. We have only had a few good QBs, so who is this person comparing Sammy to?

This guy states the obvious when comparing JB9 and JD5 and even Nuss in his 1st full season. Sure we don't know where he will fit with those guys having only 1 season with CLK.
But also remember that JB9 and JD5 took huge steps in their 2nd season. Even they were a bit pedestrian in their 1st season. So I don't know what to expect. I know CLK system is QB friendly and has a solid run game to put the stress on the D.
Diego Pavia comparison is bit much because Pavia is a short Manziel. He did his damage when the play broke down. I don't think that will be the case with SL. He will do damage when he has to scramble but I think the focus will be to get the ball out.

No idea what a "normal" LSU QB is here, as no sane person would categorize Heisman Trophy winners that way. If he's better than Nuss, then that's more meaningful to me than anything going into this season.

Acting as if the QBs beating him aren’t generational. Like you said, Diego Pavia finished 2nd in the Heisman. Not a shame that Pavia would be a better college QB.

He's not a Daniels or Burrow, but his physical traits are as good or better than Chambliss's (not saying he will be as good). They are very similar in their ability to make plays off schedule.

Did he just sht on Diego Pavia for no reason? Pavia was arguably the best QB in the country over the past 2 seasons

I believe Kiffin is the best QBC/OC combination in CFB. Kiffin will have Leavitt prepared, Kiffin will call plays that give Leavitt the best opportunity to succeed. I certainly hope Leavitt rises to the challenge, and I'm optimistic about this season.
Not totally accurate. Kiffin personally wanted Leavitt more than any QB not named Trinidad. The staff convinced him to pursue Sorsby and Williams due to concerns about Leavitt's health.
