Even if the face mask on Goff was called and the Rams scored a TD to go ahead instead of getting 3 to tie, the result of the PI/PF/targeting call would have put the ball within the 5 with 4 shots for the Saints to go ahead!! Give me a break!!

I understand his point completely, any call could alter the outcome. The point that he’s missing is there was no could involved with this particular call. Considering the time left on the clock and field position, that call directly changed the outcome of the game. Throw the flag and the saints win, period. Like I said, if this happens in the second quarter then a few people bitch but it’s largely a non-story.
Soooo if the Saints score a touchdown with a 1:30 left, the Rams ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT score a touchdown to tie the game?

No chance he would be saying this if the roles were reversed.

You are right. It would be the sorry arse Saints talking about how they were tired of hearing about the non-call. That about right?

Whitworth never said the call was right only that he is tired of hearing about and I don't blame him. I am an LOUISIANA State University fan and I will pull for our players with the exception of the d-bag Eric Reid.

Not comment on it. I find it disrespectful to the fans of Louisiana, especially considering he played here.

I admit I didn’t see the full interview, so that could change my feeling.

Really? He grew up in Monroe. There's a good chance he grew up watching the Cowboys. I'm not sure why people think he owes any respect to the "fans of Louisiana."

A winner who got his first playoff victory this year (just playing around). I like Whitworth when played at LSU and I still like him now, doesn't mean I have to agree with what he said.

Why the frick does this board always pit the saints vs LSU. One is professional the other amateur. It’s like do you pull for LSU b-ball or pelicans. I don’t ever see those dumb fricking threads

then they're going to show up in Atlanta all pissed off and looking to prove something.

It's the Super Bowl

I highly doubt the level of their motivation and effort is going to be influenced by what people are saying about them.

Cool...I don't...but that's only because we've seen it happen countless times in sports history where a team that feels slighted goes into a big game with a chip on their shoulder.

If you look at this as a blown call, then he is 100% correct. But this was not a blown call. The term blown call implies there was human error. This could not possibly be attributed to human error (no professional ref can be this incompetent). This was an intentional no call by more than one professional ref. So I have to say I think Whitworths scenario does not even fit this situation. This was criminal tampering and no less. Call it what it is and maybe it won't be used so blatantly in the future.

My loyalty is to LSU and New Orleans Saints, not Whitworth. Or any former LSU/Saints player.

His comments are just his opinion. The facts are the facts and the Saints were fricked.

No one likes being told they don’t deserve something.

His opinion is reasonable given the fact that he is a human being.

It was a game hanging break for the Rams.

While not the only factor, it was really the biggest frick up.

He wrong, I love the guy but he’s 100% wrong it’s not an excuse it was the worst call in a big game in history. He wants to bring up the face mask well how about the phantom timeout that nobody called? Go back and watch the play there are no coaches on the sideline signaling timeout and no players either it was just given to them. How about in the last drive and overtime Cam Jordan being held on every single play? Or their guards holding blitzers every single play? Tye point is a call like that isn’t offset by a missed call earlier because you can go tit for tat on that all day long. He’s wrong because not only was it PI but it was also helmet to helmet, or faceguarding and on replay there were 3 refs all staring right at it. The conspiracy theory comes in because in 99% of those situations when a call that big is missed you’re sure to get a makeup call coming back the other way or even 2 for that big a miss but the Saints got nothing and to make it worse, there didn’t need to be a makeup call there was actual blatant holding on almost every pass play. I’ve always like Whit but he’s 100% wrong and could’ve been more gracious about this.

I'm convinced that there are people here that just argue to just argue. That's the only explanation there can be because if you don't agree that the Saints got screwed and you agree with Whitworth that there were other calls or non calls that were similar to this blatant non call then you are worthless and are here just to argue.
