High was the 2003 national championship

Low was Bama 2012, the TJ Yeldon screen pass.

For me that was the biggest gut punch loss ever.

2019 was great. But being a fan since the late 70’s and living through the dark days of the 90’s, that 2003 title and ending a near 50 year drought was as good as I’ve ever felt as a sports fan.

High-LSU/Oklahoma 2019 semifinals. The best game by our best team

Low-Since 1/9/12 will be mentioned a lot, I will go with an early life deep cut: LSU/Stanford College World Series 1987. Elimination game with 4 teams left (CWS was a weird round robin thing back then so I think they had one more game after before the finals had they won).

Up 3 in the bottom of the 10th, walked the bases loaded, grand slam. The ultimate its not over til its over game.

He won us a natty. Christ. This “it makes me look cool to bash Miles” attitude by so many members of this board lately is stupid.

Low still is losing to tulane for the first time in 25 years. High was beating the stuffing out of The Bear in Birmingham, Rohan & Reed's big game.

All Time High -
Warren Morris walk off HR !! Once in a lifetime feeling !
All Time Low - watching the refs cheat LSU out of what had been the greatest game that I had ever witnessed in the 79 17 - 12 loss to USC ! Tiger stadium was louder than the Auburn earthquake game - I still get pissed about that game !

That 2012 Alabama loss was my freshman year (cannot believe it’s 12 years ago now). That is probably the apex of college in terms of everything being so fresh and surprising day in and day out.

Haunting is a great way to describe it. I never really got over it at all until 2019. And still now I wish we won that game over any other regular season game. It felt like we had to avenge the title game. The atmosphere on campus that day was absolutely electric.

Obligatory 2019 LSU Fightin’ Tigers! Greatest of all time.

2003 NC vs OU was almost unbelievable. I truly thought that LSU was simply incapable of finishing top 2 and even having an opportunity to play for a natty. After we won the SEC championship in 01 and followed it up with demolishing Illinois to win the Sugar Bowl, I distinctly remember saying “we did it! we have reached the mountain top!” Couldn’t dream it could get better than that. All we’ve done since then is play in every national championship game held in New Orleans this millennium and won 3 of 4. Go ahead and pencil us in for the 2027 season if New Orleans is indeed given the game. Falls right in line with the 4 year cycle as well. There is something truly magical about LSU. Or maybe it’s the voodoo.

Some more of my favorites (there’s so many) is seeing LSU whoop Saban and Michigan St. in the Independence bowl as well as 5 time Heisman winner Ron Powlus and ND 2 years later with Booty catching the TD in front of home town crowd and the birth of the white helmets.

Warren Morris and Tommy Tanks walk offs, along with Todd Walker line drive to send us to 93 championship game.

03 UGA will always hold a special place along with the legend of Hester being born vs Timmy Tebow and FL 07.

Trump at ‘19 bama game and everything that came along with that legendary game. People forget that LSU was #1 in one poll while bama was 1 in the other. They were ranked 2 and 3 in the playoff rankings. Gotta be my favorite regular season win ever and doing so the way we did is LSU lore. Again, way too many to mention.

Some of the worst are 98 vs UGA. Ranked in the top 10 for first time in forever, lose by 1, and it all goes to shite. 2000 UAB lol Wisconsin in Lambeau. Miles swore he’d change things up, but unfortunately, he had 2 of the greatest running backs in LSU history in his backfield and he was like Fthat! That was his final downfall. No way in hell he was going to take the ball out of Fournette and Guices hands. I really kinda see his point lol. If he had them a QB besides Harris or Jennings or Etling, he might still be here.
2005 Monday vs Tennessee is the sickest I’ve ever been leaving a stadium. Besides the time I knocked out an Iowa frat boy for running up in my face hollering “how bout them Hawkeyes?” after the Hail Mary in citrus bowl Saban last game.

I was going thru a wild breakup on 1/9/12 so I didn’t even feel the L. For me, it was losing to Bama last second in 2012 at home. That was brutal. Also, seeing the players carry Miles off the field at the end of the A&M game in 2015 made me angry. I knew he was gonna be fired anyway the next season.

High point was def Burrow and Co.
But also beating Bama in 2022 and rushing the field was awesome. Signaled a change in the order moving forward.

Is that the one where we recovered a fumble with a minute to go and had first and goal on the Bama 3 in a tie game and lost?

The high was beating Bama in 2019. The low was Okla St “missing” the winning FG in the rain on a Fri night at Iowa St (he made it)

Worse was 1990 FSU. Got beat 42-3. Really showed how bad the program was.

High was the playoff run of 2019. Amazing.

2005 Monday vs Tennessee

Gotta be an all time nadir for my experience watching LSU. Game delayed because of a big destructive hurricane on Saturday, and just for Tennessee to pull a big upset on a Monday night, with unbelievable heat and humidity. Horrible experience.

2019 & 1/9. Didn’t expect to win 1/9 as I thought we were lucky to beat Alabama the first time. Still sucked

Ranking the highs from football championships:
1. 2019 - just so perfect
2. 2003 - the first I was alive for
3. 2007 - had too many people over for the game...didn't make for the best football environment.

Low - 21-0. I will forever be pissed about Bama getting a mulligan.

Highs I was there for.
1. vs. the Longhorns in 2019.
2. vs the Tide in 2022
3. vs Washington in 1983.

In person low - UCLA. Such a horrible showing by our Tigers.
