Wake is a very good team but their are not many lineups in college baseball that can put pressure on a pitcher like LSUs can. We all saw Lowder have his worst performance of the season in game 1 and that was against a relatively soft hitting Stanford team.

Clemson got hot late but the meat of their schedule was earlier on. Not a great example to use as a tough opponent for Wake

The reply was to the poster who said they dodged Miami and Virginia in the regular season...which was inaccurate. They played Miami. I also pointed out they played (and swept) Clemson...who was the #4 national seed. Wake could make the argument LSU "dodged" (#2) Florida and (#6) Vanderbilt.

The point is, it was a poor argument to discredit those guys. Just like it would be a poor argument to say LSU is not as good because they didn't play Vanderbilt and Florida this year. They are a really good team. It's not "being negative" to say such. EITHER team is very capable of beating the other tonight. That's why it will be fun to watch.

Stanford is a top 10 team (nationally) in batting average, slugging %, and HRs.

It all depends on pitching. If the GOOD TIGER pitching shows up, LSU wins going away. If the bad tiger pitching show up..........

Seeing that the last #1 seed to win the CWS was Miami back in 1999, I wouldnt touch that bet with a 10 foot stick. There's some bad juju being the #1 seed.

Correct, except the National guys can't and won't predict when they'll lose.

To be fair, they all picked Wake to get to the finals. So they have to make this pick again today to stay with their original predictions. What’s funny is that two of them also picked Virginia from the other side:

Kendall - Florida over Wake

Fitt - Wake over Vigina

Rooney - Wake over Vigina

Healy - Florida over Wake

I hate the narrative that we only have one pitcher in Skenes. Nobody wants to do their fricking research and man up to say the LSU pitching staff has drastically improved and been one of the better pieces of this team during the postseason run
