Are you trying to claim that ECU has the same resources as Ole Miss?

The rivals update is depressing….hold the ropers want Bianco, newer former players want Godwin

If we hire Bianco…they’re going for….McDonnell. So we can make ole miss a lot better pretty quickly.

I think Godwin would do alright if you’re content with supers and maybe an occasional trip to Omaha.

How do you know this is his ceiling?

No I think at some point though you have to acknowledge similar or lesser programs have had equal or greater success than ecu

I’ll take him over Bianco I guess

This bringing mike home is bullshite, if this were home he’d have taken the job when offered. He just thought he had a job for life there as the program builder until they very nearly fired his arse a few years ago. Now suddenly you want to come home?

I hope Woodward will do the job he's hired to do, rather than listening to the wishes of former players. That sounds like Alleva.

And yes, Ole Miss would absolutely go after McDonnell. A good portion of their fan base has wanted him to replace Bianco for years.

At least we don’t have to worry about getting to Omaha all the time and only winning one championship when we probably should’ve won more.

All the time? Paul has been 5 times in 15 years as head coach at LSU. That’s not super impressive.

And two of those, including his only national title, was with Godwin as hitting coach.

Talking to my dad, who doesn't follow baseball nearly as closely as we do.

Me: "Man, it's looking like we're gonna hire Mike Bianco."

Dad, unprompted: "God, I hope not."

Dallas Baptist comes to mind immediately

ETA: I’d argue from a recruiting base standpoint, Louisville is another who has done more

Kent has been in regionals and gone to Omaha. That’s another.

Don’t get me wrong, Godwin has built a nice little program. I just don’t see him as a home run hire

he has to recruit at a second tier school in a state where he’s no better than the 2nd best program and he’s surrounded by powerhouse programs.

He had multiple top 5 classes including two #2 classes

His classes have ranked higher than LSU's in 4 of the past 12 years

He has done nothing with that talent

Are you kidding with dbu? They are playing in their first super regional in 13 years under heefner.
Godwin has 3 in 6 years. They have both done well, but godwin has clearly gotten ecu farther

Dallas Baptist has been in several regionals and from a resource standpoint is nowhere near ecu

I’d say it’s comparable

Well we dont want to hire heefner, someone whose ceiling is regionals and the occasional super regional

I agree. We shouldn’t hire coaches whose ceilings are super regionals either

Is there a rule saying they must remain the 2nd tier school in the state?

Well it works for Godwin so I thought I’d apply it to Bianco

What works for Godwin? You surely aren’t comparing ECU to OM from a recruiting abs facilities perspective?
