Irrelevant. LSU didn’t only score 20 because BK wasn’t concerned with the eye test. LSU scored 20 points off of 5 interceptions because LSU does not have a good offense.

The “just win” folks seem to be forgetting that we’ve played terrible teams so far. It’s easy to have a “doesn’t matter just win” attitude when we haven’t played an actual team yet.

It’s one thing to have that attitude if we have an ugly win over Ohio State. We’re getting ugly wins over LA Tech and Florida. It’s a problem and let’s remember Andrew Hatch also led us to 3-0. Who cares.

I don't really disagree with your overall point, but its just odd to me that people keep using "Ohio State" as the stand-in for "generic elite team as compared to the highly-flawed LSU" considering that Ohio State had a 13-9 lead in the 3rd quarter against Ohio last weekend.

I wish I could bookmark all the post saying we will get destroyed in SEC from this weekend

Saying LSU is going to get "destroyed" in the SEC is ridiculous. But so is ignoring the offense and burying your head in the "we're 3-0" sand.

2 years ago LSU had a championship level offense with an unstoppable QB. In late September, after a blowout of Miss St, LSU played, at home, against what was thought to be (at the time) a decent Arkansas team. After a relatively slow 1Q for both teams, Arkansas (starting in the 2Q) would score points on its next 5 possessions (excluding a walk off possession at the end of the 1st half). LSU won the game on a FG with 5 seconds left...which was fortunate because Arkansas had scored 2 TDs its previous two possessions.

There were VERY big reasons to be concerned about the defense going forward for those who weren't resigned to just burying their head in the "we're 3-1 and ranked No. 12" sand. The next week LSU scored 49 @ Ole Miss...and lost because they gave up 55. The week after was another shootout with Mizzou. This time allowing 39 points. Outside of an outlier vs. a bad Auburn team, the poor defense would become a constant. One that would totally waste the best offense in the country. The warning signs were there early. But many wanted to blissfully ignore them.

Flash forward to today and we see a defense with three straight dominant performances to start the season, and there is no reason to believe the defense won't continue to be good. Yet, the offensive output has gotten progressively worse in each game. Predictably, we have the same crowd from 2023 screaming "you guys are miserable. We're 3-0!!" despite the same type of early warning signs that were present vs. Arkansas, followed by a litany of excuses as to why the offense is struggling, except the obvious answer, the OC is doing a bad job). The running game was ineffective for the 16th straight time under the OC, the passing game was disjointed (failing to attack the middle of the field, then doing so, then abandoning it again), and despite moving the ball the offense failed to put up corresponding points.

That 2023 season will aways be a "what if" season...all because the coaching staff refused to acknowledge the warning sings that were there in September and change their approach. Those who saw that season and didn't memory hole it because doing otherwise "just isn't fun" are seeing the potential warning signs again. The hope is that unlike in 2023, the staff has the wherewithal to accept the approach they are taking on offense is ineffective and change course NOW to avoid another unfulfilled season. Otherwise, we will all be sitting here in December wondering when LSU will fire Sloan, while pretending to be excited for a Citrus Bowl vs. some mid-tier Big 10 school.

This is what I am having trouble wrapping my head around. 5 interceptions and we could only score 20?

One was at the end of the half

One was a pick six

One was at the end of the game

So basically, they didn't capitalize on two of interceptions.

He has a proven track record of success

I don't think he is elite, but he is definitely one of the top coaches in the nation.

Kirby Smart is the only elite active coach right now, maybe Ryan Day if he continues his current run

Hey TN Tygah, LSU’s offense scored 13 pts. pal. The LSU defense scored 7 pts. to make our total tally 20 pts. The offense were really below average and Van Buren should have replaced Nussmieir at QB. He was almost as bad as Zack Johnson in the game against where Zack tossed the ball backward over his head. When the QB gets that shook up then it’s time to get a new QB into the game.

False. I want to believe, but ALL of Kelly’s teams at LSU have FADED at the end of the season, losing to Alabama, TaM, and barely escaping Arky teams loaded with 2 star players.

5 INTs, win by 10 is almost unheard of.

Wasn’t 20 it was 13… one td was a pick 6.

13 off 4 turnovers still bad.

Not once but twice BK hit the brakes on the offense and played to escape with a W.

Only here could people somehow accept that he's some savant coach for having a shitty inefficient offense that can't run the ball

Kinda hard to have a "run the ball and play defense" strategy when you literally can't run the ball.

Damn. I didn’t realize all the Coaches had to do was “change their approach “ on Defense & then all the mediocre defensive players would’ve magically played like All Americans & boom LSUs the NCs!!!!

I'm going to need time to reacclimate to the Les Miles era before I can thoroughly enjoy it
And we thought the # 1 quality for a coach was the "anti-Miles" philosophy of run, run, pass, punt and defense that allows LSU to mostly grind out close wins over inferior opposition on a weekly basis.
