Notre Dame is a national brand particularly among Catholics in the US.
LSU doesn’t have that type of appeal. It’s like the 5th biggest brand in the SEC at best (Bama, Texas, Florida, OU) all bigger
I think you're underestimating both LSUs brand (Florida lol) and the amount of money the streaming services are throwing at live sports right now. We may not get the same as SEC money, but it would be close. A major streamer like Netflix or Amazon would see getting LSU exclusively as step 1 in opening up and acquiring more schools under their umbrella. I don't like it but that is probably the next step in this evolution.

If we ever thought they have rigged games against LSU, and we all know they have, then those days will be nothing compared to what is coming in the future if SEC doesn't get its way with LSU on this. I am ready to try another place to play football.....the SEC has just gotten crazy on us.

Even if LSU “wins” this dispute, it feels like we are in for years of getting screwed left and right by the SEC and the NCAA every chance they get.

At some point, this situation gets so bad that LSU can't stay...even if allowed.
I've been wondering exactly what the plan discussed at the governor's office was. Some called it PE. Some said that wasn't it.
The only thing that makes sense is that LSU is heading down a path that makes the SEC very uncomfortable and this situation is just the proxy war for it.

Because the SEC is the best and most lucrative conference in the country and in the end it's all about the money.

While true, if you haven't started wondering what the role of conferences are yet, you are blind.
This is all moving towards a super conference. Is that conference born out of the SEC and Big Ten, or is a new entity that ends up owning college football as we know it?
UT and OU were escaping a sinking ship. But, that same logic could be applied to the SEC as things are changing.
Give ESPN / Private Equity an opportunity to own it all and everything is in the air.

SEC and Big10, clearly.
And this scenario makes us even more irrelevant b/c we'd be outside that super conference.

I 100% agree. After the SEC courted Texas, I kind of knew it was all over anyway.

if they vote or motion in the direction of suspension or fines I'd just leave the conference. Finish the season and start scheduling for next year.

What good can their be for LSU going forward. We still have to play with SEC refs in all sports, don't we....does anyone think LSU will ever get a fair shake going forward? It is time to call their bluff and when LSU wins, just resign, after making our deal to move first, of course.
