After all this, why would LSU want to stay?

Seems it would be the perfect time to either negotiate an independent TV deal or have talks with another conference.

I know if I were treated this way in any relationship, I'd want out even if we reached a resolution.

Just wait until they start rigging the games again.

Then LSU loses. Bigly.

This is why the SEC always had the upper hand when LSU and the players tried to fight them.

What really is the worst case scenario here?

LSU goes independent? Yeah it will hurt the other sports, but selfishly no one really cares about them. Football is king.

LSU signs a deal with a streaming service like Amazon or Netflix? Would be massive.

LSU is welcomed immediately by another conference and becomes their crown jewel? I won't lie, kind of sick of the SEC and all it's BS.

Without the SEC TV money, LSU is screwed. That’s a fact.

They aren’t Notre Dame that can get a major network to exclusively carry their games

We have to be able to play somebody. Notre dame could not fill a schedule so they joined the ACC in sports other than football and agreed to play rotating ACC teams in football.

How exactly would LSU lose bigly? They'd start a bidding war where they would name their own terms

It would hurt football, too.

Captain of a sinking ship. There is a reason UT and OU couldn't leave the Big12 soon enough, and why FSU, Miami, Clemson, etc. are trying to do the same with the ACC

Agreed. This is the Sankey and the rest of the SEC is the jealous girlfriend that is emotionally unstable and threatened to kick you out because you said hello to another girl. We are past the breaking point now. LSU administration needs to issue a strongly worded statement that LSU has done nothing wrong and has complied with all league rules. Dare them to kick you out at this point.

Maybe if they fired Sankey. But these other universities easily turning on LSU may be too much to look past.

I'm not sure there's a realistic path for LSU to generate the revenue needed to be elite in any sport apart from the SEC.

No problem with the SEC.

Just a problem with the SEC leadership.

The Big10 is 18 teams. The ACC is 16 teams. So is the Big12. So we will have to join the ACC or the Big12.

Big12 might be the best option.

I think it is inevitable

CLK is gonna tempo their asses out the building. They won’t have a chance to cheat (and it not be obvious ). Just like the SEC is showing their arse. I think LSU is in a win-win right now.
