The logistics are a nightmare. It just is not feasible to host 12 volleyball matches, 15-17 men's basketball games, 15-17 women's basketball games, and 5-6 gymnastics meets in that shitty building. It would cost LSU a LOT of money. Where will the teams practice? What will they use for locker rooms?

I don’t know… doesn’t seem that hard to pull off… The River Center in better shape than the PMAC… LSU going spend a lot of money regardless… this a cheaper route than trying to build another arena… teams can practice in UREC

1 and 3 are all that need to happen. Some of the assistants can work if you get a good head coach. Nobody complained about marketing/promotions last time we had a good coach.

Good luck hiring a decent men's basketball coach and telling him that

Everyone on the coaching staff needs to be fired. There is not a single person on the coaching staff doing what they need to do. All have to go. No exceptions.

New coaches bring in who they want, but how do you know people aren’t doing their jobs? Taz was on staff for the rants greatest basketball coach of all time as well. So he must have some value.

Nothing wrong with the court

On TV the court looks like it belongs in a some backwards podunk high school gym or, worse, a third world country.

I doubt progress will be on any new arena for a while. Although new taxes were approved, plans with the developer are still ongoing and there are lots of approvals and details to be worked out.

Everything LSU has done with the PMAC over the past two decades has been lipstick on a pig or applying a bandaid to a festering wound.

Break the fricking bank open and go hire Dan Hurley, Nate Oats, Todd Golden from UF, Jon Scheyer from Duke, etc. And you give them whatever money every other top 10 basketball program is being funded with. Then you let them go build a national championship basketball team.

We need men's basketball to succeed here. I'm tired of everything being cheap or finding some diamond in the rough. Spend some fricking money.

High school basketball in the state is actually in as good of a place than it's been in a long time.

Uniforms are great-- classic design and colors. I only wish the late 1970's stars & script design would return, however. A replica of them were brought back for four home games back in 2023-- McMahon's first season-- for the Tennessee, Texas Tech, South Carolina and Missouri games. Well we lost all those games and somehow they became "cursed".

IMO men's college basketball is cursed as long as McMahon roams the LSU sidecourt

One, NONE of those guys would leave for LSU. Hurley and Oats had opportunities to go to Kentucky two years ago and both turned it down. Plus, all three, Hurley (Rhode Island), Oats (Buffalo), Golden (San Francisco) came to their current school from mid-major jobs.

THIS ISN'T FOOTBALL. You don't have to pay a fortune to poach a championship level coach to have success. The top 16 seeds this year will be littered with coaches who came from mid-major programs or assistant coaches from major programs.

Hower, you may have inadvertently exposed the problem. We have a collection of morons who don't understand the basketball market IS NOT the football market.

Why? because we like them as players and have nostalgic memories of when they played? The rants obsession with former players as coaches is a tale as old as time

Did any of these lose two top players to season ending injuries the past two seasons?
