I'll never forget the look on the faces of the OU fans after TigerBand did Pre-Game and the Superdome erupted. They had never seen crazy coonasses in person. They were in shock before the game even started.

That coach took us to two. Most likely scenario is those days are gone until saban leaves bama. LSU would have at least 2 more if he wasn't there.

I was working in a paper mill at the time. I remember being prepared to be terminated because I was on the schedule to work that night and planned to call in sick to watch the game with my old man. My reasoning was "I don't know if we will ever be in this situation again for the rest of my life and I refuse to miss it." Funny how attitudes/expectations can change in a 12 year period.

Then just ask them who they beat in the national championship game then. East coasters and USC fanboys just pretended that the AP still meant something because the great USC was left out. You're right about who they would say won in 03, but their opinion doesn't matter. They had a great team, but they got left out. Every team wanted to play for the crystal football.

Was there and had to fight the tears. At that time I had not missed a game ---home or away in 18 years. I saw a lot of arse lickings during the Curley years. It remember asking my buddy, "is this really happening or am I drunk and hallucinating?".
