I, for one, will always be grateful to Nick for what he did for this program.

No doubt, Nick was great for the program.

I cant even imagine what the LSU program would look like today, had Miles been hired in Nicks place.

That would have been a disaster.

I was there - last row of the upper deck, but at least at mid-field. Hard to believe LSU played in two more after that.

1959-2002
No national titles played for

2003-2011
Three national titles played for

Good times...

USC SUCKS!!!! Tigers were the UNDISPUTED national champs of 2003, and 2007, and they have the trophies to prove it.

What I find funny, is that, to this day, the media still states LSU has to "split" the title. USC and Nick Saban, on the other hand, are credited with full NCs in 2003. No "split" when talking about their history.

If Saban was still at LSU, think it would show up as a "split" on his record? You bet your sweet arse it would.

It was a very surreal feeling. I ran to the first souvenir stand off canal and bought a visor I happen to have on right now. The tipped almost TD catch made my heart skip a few beats.

Of those three teams, only one, LSU, has remained at or near the level of the college football elite. Texas, in particular, is simply mired in mediocrity.
