Most since we hit 107 in 2009. Looking at some of the season HR totals after they deadened the bats in 2011 was depressing

Yeah I made almost this exact same post a couple of weeks ago. Those homerun numbers from 2011 on when they changed the bats are pathetic. I don’t know how college baseball survived that dead ball era.

Reducing the seams had a big impact and the balls must be juiced now. When they lowered the seams it bumped homers up from about 40 to about 65. Now in 2021 and 2022 LSU is hitting 93 and over 100. They’ve done something extra to the ball the last couple of seasons.

Tennessee probably isn’t going to catch 1997 but they’re probably going to hit more homers this season than LSU hit in 1998. LSU hit 157 homers in 1998. Tennessee has 133 this season with at least 15 games left.

When they lowered the seams on the ball in 2015 we’ve gotten to the perfect sweet spot

Gotta give Paul credit for switch gears and recruiting all SS and CF in that era to adapt. Took him a little too long to switch back to power hitters once’s things evened out tho

Yeah like even some of our really good teams in 2013 and 2015 had like 45-50 for the whole season.

Remember when UCLA won it all with 19 home runs

Thank God those days are over.

What year was it where it took like a full week to get the first home run in Omaha?

What a total snooze fest the CWS was then

Pretty good for a team our resident baseball experts tell me has “no talent”

The fact we got so accustomed to LSU getting to Omaha makes me remember Smoke and 2005.

They have figured out how to make bats better an better they lose some durability when you push them to the max but they have some newer bats that they get good exit velocities out of.

Homeruns this year have been up a pretty good bit across the country, they did something to the balls

They probably tightened the compression on the balls

They hit 7 in the entire game unless their own website is wrong.

That LSU team was MUCH better than how they played in Omaha that year.
