Do you think Les is a better coach than Saban?

He’s the greatest college football coach of all time and he happens to be alive now and involved with sports media. Why would you not squeeze everything out of him. Everyone has a tremendous amount of respect for him.

No one thinks this lol

But arguing that Miles handled the chaos of Katrina/Rita better than Saban may have at that point in their careers isn’t unreasonable.

The pressure Saban put on his players and teams and the stress he felt when his process was disrupted very easily could have broken that 05 team.

06 and 07 are stone cold locks with the talent we had

Play calling (and the refs) lost the Auburn game in 2006. Jimbo is still the OC if Saban stays so not sure why you think that game goes any differently, especially seeing as how Saban had never won on The Plains.

Jamarcus had a bad day against Florida, that’s why we lost. Saban totally mismanaged the QB situation with JR and Randall in 04, which cost us the Auburn game that year btw, so again just assuming Saban changes the outcome there is just fan fiction.

Possible, sure. But nowhere near the stone cold lock you claim.

2007, who knows at that point?

But one thing is certain, Ryan Perriloux would not have been there to win the SECCG and MVP if Saban stays at LSU. That is the only lock in this whole scenario.

Maybe Flynn doesn’t get hurt in that world, maybe we have another QB that can step up and win that game, but again not a lock at all.

Maybe no RP actually sets us up better down the road, as the 08 dismissal doesn’t destroy the QB room the way that it did.

But again this is all make believe, no cold locks.

There is such a thing as over exposure - just ask my parole officer.

For some situations? Yes. Saban is by far a better coach, but not in every aspect. People really sell Miles short because of Saban’s time at Bama, but the guy had great start at LSU.

Had Saban not come back to Bama, Miles is likely seen better than Urban Meyer, and possibly the best coach of this era. Would it have lasted? No, but gut want some awful coach.

In the end, Saban struggled with lots of things that other coaches didn’t. He literally quit because he couldn’t handle NIL. Same reason he sucked as an NFL coach.

Saban deserves and has earned all the praise he gets.

Deboer is probably the only person who should want people to shut up about Saban.

Saban did what he thought was in his best interest. No different than the players good or bad. We ow have a coach who will win big at LSU.

He left, so what. But it’s the way he did it that still sticks. Waited until LATE in the coach hiring cycle to announce was going to scratch his NFL itch (before failing miserably at that, because everyone gets an equal number of draft picks) so we miss out on Meyer and are stuck with Lester, who only won a NC with Saban’s players. Then every week he would be on there lobbying for his team, costing us the 2011 title when we should have played OSU instead of a rematch, having already beaten Bama once at their place. So frick him and frick E$PN for rigging this shite every year for ratings. They can both go suck a bag of dicks!
totally agree with this post. I wish everybody would quit sucking Saban’s dick on here. And STOP posting about him constantly. It’s water under the bridge. Please let it go. Louisiana people are in crisis mode mentality all the time. Saban is an afterthought, and not relevant anymore to LSU Tigers. Please just stop it.

They did that this past offseason, but it didn't age very well...
